What a beautiful park to tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the sights and wildlife. The fish were enormous and the view was spectacular! Was a great place to visit.

I had booked a yurt at this state park just because it was convenient and inexpensive after leaving Thermopolis. What an absolutely stunning place. Our yurt was actually adorable. We spent so much time with our kids feeding the fish, they will always remember that. We are from Minnesota but have been to most of the state parks in Wyoming,... More

Hit this on our way out to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. Unexpected! Really impressed and will have to return just to concentrate on enjoying this state park.

Sinks Canyon is a must see. Located in the out skirts of Lander in an incredible mystery of nature. The Popo Agie River actually runs under the canyon walls and surfaces a short distance downstream. You can actually climb down to the mouth of the canyon where there is a rather large cavern. Roaming around I wondered if there was... More

We didn't take any hikes or perhaps we would have seen some splendor. We thought the scenery was rocky, barren and kind of boring. We expected to see some color. Perhaps too early. Would only go here if you must overnight in Lander.

This is amazing! Once the river disappears underground, it takes 2 and a half hrs. to emerge at a spot just a quarter of a mile down the road. Imagining all the deep caverns and underground pathways it must travel is mind boggling! There is a pool where it finally emerges filled with the fattest, happiest trout I've ever seen!

This park, and the adjoining National Forest land, is sited in a beautiful canyon with opportunities for hiking, camping, rock climbing and more. The "sink" of the river where it flows into a mountain cave, and then the "rise" down the hill about a half mile where it reappears out of the other wall of the canyon is fascinating. There... More

This was a beautiful area and we really enjoyed the short walks. The visitor centre was closed but the wash rooms open. There are 000s of fish in the pool. Would like to go back at a different time of year to see the river when it is full. Highly recommended.

To start, I will say, the actual State Park is absolutely beautiful, in fact I was married there! So, to celebrate our five year anniversary my husband and I rented one of the newly built yurts, which we've been excited to try. The yurt itself, was fantastic. The reservation process, however, has been horrible. From the moment I tried to... More

A favorite spot to see when we visit Lander. Don't skip this gem! The river heads into the ground (sinks) and appears back a half mile down the way (rise). Great photo op. Hiking trails are close by but even grandma was able to use her cane and enjoy the sinks.
