Sometimes museums are a little overwhelming or even boring to me. Not this one. I love animals and loved looking at wildlife art, paintings and sculptures. The outside sculptures are a nice little walk around. I had never seen the Andy Warhol endangered species series- nice!

This museum is on top of a hill, looking out over the National Elk Refuge. Even if you are not a museum or art person, this place is worth checking out. During the Winter months, when the Elk are in the valley, you can have lunch at the on site restaurant and watch them out the large windows.

The stunning building overlooks the National Elk Refuge. Outdoor statues are gorgeous in their open air locations. Inside, the collection is a wonderful surprise. A whole section is filled with Andy Warhol paintings of animals (a big surprise for me). Contemporary and classical paintings and statues depicting wildlife from Wyoming and even Africa. Fabulous and a must see when you... More

Hi Mary, Thank you for sharing about your experience with us! Many visitors are surprised to learn that Warhol even made wildlife art, and I think it's cool to see how he used the same silkscreen process as he did with his other famous paintings. We like to say he gives celebrity to the endangered species, much like he did... More

Extensive collection of wildlife art of all kind - paintings, sculptures and mixed media. Changing exhibitions and interesting outdoor sculptures of mostly western wildlife. A little expensive ($14 for adults) in my opinion, but not a showstopper.

My husband and I passed by this museum several times on the way to Yellowstone from Jackson. We were not sure what we would find when we decided to stop and I am glad we did. Impressive collection including special Warhol and Aesop's Fables exhibits.

On our way from Yellowstone National Park we had the opportunity to visit the National Museum and it was the right decision. The artwork is spectacular. Give this place a try.

We had just arrived @ Jackson Hole Airport - while sitting near baggage claim I overheard someone talking about this museum, saying 'don't miss it'. Since it was afternoon, & we didn't feel like heading into Grand Teton NP, after checking in @ our hotel, we headed to the museum. Wow, it's pretty spectacular - 51,000 sq ft, 5000+ cataloged...
