The Tecumseh Old West "museum" had an interesting miniature diorama including trains and hundreds of tiny figures, but the owner retired, sold the "museum," and it was sent to California (Danville, I think). The site is now occupied by a gun range where you can (for a fee) fire various guns, including old west firearms and a Gatling gun.

This place is amazing! The detail put into the miniature display is unreal. I can't imagine how much time was spent putting this together. Just the number of buffalo is mind blowing. They also have some clothing, photos, animals and such on display. It's a really nice collection, Unless things have changed since our visit, it's free. They have a... More

This miniature museum is a free place to go (you may leave a donation to help keep it open) and is very interesting. It tells a story of the Indians and how they lived in the area. The railroad that came through the land...it's also has real artifacts of Indians on display to keep them (the artifacts) safe and free... More

This is a magnificent collection that the owner started as a boy, and he didnt want to just sell it to anyone, nor let it all be stored away in some dusty warehouse, (& no kids who could carry it on) so he found a top-class museum collector in California to take it over. They will be spending this year... More

Sadly the second time we came to see this fun free museum the owner told us that he had sold the entire thing to another museum out of state. We were able to view what had not been boxed up already and could see the huge doorway in back cut for more removal of the displays.

The owners are nice & the place has some interesting items. Again more history. Local lore. ( since I cannot write the exact date as it was 4 years ago that my hubby & I visited August 2014 must do) I remember a small circus set up & some Wild West Show set ups. History of the local Tribes included... More

Don't waste your time here in 2014. The display is all torn up and the gift shop doesn't have much of interest. I think in the past it might have been good but not rightnow.

The trading post is not far from the rodeo grounds, and was on our way out of town towards Yellowstone. It is easy to find. Parking is out front. You walk into a gift store first. After we looked around, we asked to see the miniatures - it is in a large room in the back of the store. There... More
