Stroll through history while viewing over a thousand of relic guns & other weapons from many different time periods and locations including “America’s War of Independence, The Gold Rush Era, The U.S. Civil War, The Old West & Indian Wars, World War I, The Roaring 20’s and World War II”. The Cody Dug Up Gun Museum is one of Cody, Wyoming’s newest attractions and a great look at history for the whole family. Open to the public in the spring of 2009. The museum is a proud sponsor of the Cody Gunfighter’s Show at the world famous Irma Hotel (just steps away from our museum!) We are members of the Cody Chamber of Commerce and enthusiastic supporters of Cody’s historical attractions. Open 9:am – 9:pm - 7 days a week from May through September

Off the beaten path, free museum of weapons literally dug up. None were operational and all showed the rust and deterioration of time without care. It is very interesting however to see and read the background on the weapons. There is an allure to the...More

When Hans Kurth started collecting, he could only afford guns that were pitted or rusted shut. After thirty years, unforeseen patterns have emerged in the collection that tell valuable stories about the use, abuse and design-flaws of guns. The museums’ 1,600 sq. ft. upper room...More

If you like old guns you must visit this museum. It is free, a donation is suggested. Worth the visit, but if you can't climb stairs then you need to skip. 100's of firearms some still loaded all dug up.

I'm a big gun guy but the wife isn't. Surprisingly the wife had a great time at the museum. Not fancy but just exactly how it advertises.
