This Corinthian-style edifice was modeled after the Capitol in Washington, D.C. The famous Esther Hobart Morris Statue stands in front of the building, in honor of the first woman to hold judicial office in modern times.

We walked around this lovely and grand State Capitol that is having major renovations. It has been closed for some time and still will be for awhile. We took photos and noticed the replica Liberty Bell. Too bad the renovations were not complete!

This was one of our must sees on our USA road trip so disappointed that it was closed for significant renovation .We are sure it will look great when it is finished.

We stopped to look at the capitol, but seeing even the exterior is a challenge with all of the scaffolding and tarps. But if you live a couple of thousand miles away, you make do. The front is still visible, and some of the grounds.

We were so disappointed that the capitol is closed until 2019, which is according to their website. However, in the state museum there is an exhibit on the renovation and a film with information about the history of the capitol and the current work bring...More

Was touring downtown Cheyenne after dinner to look for old mansions when my wife spotted the capitol building. I enjoy touring capitol buildings due to the architecture quality that they usually have. Unfortunately, the building is covered with scaffolds and tarps at the time we...More

Only ranked it poor because it was surrounded with construction material. I would have loved to see it, but I did stop on the side of the street and take some pictures!

I would normally rank this higher. I visited a number of years ago and remember it being quite beautiful. It has a very unique gold dome that you can see from pretty much anywhere in the city. Right now they are renovating the capitol and...More

Everything is blocked off there, don't waste your time. Looks like they are redoing the outside as well as some interior.
