The visit to the South Wood County Historical Museum in December has stayed with me. They converted the entire place for a special holiday-themed exhibition. A floor length evening gown: the skirting was comprised of lights woven into actual green boughs. A toy exhibit was in an upstairs bedroom, waiting for children to discover what Christmas past must have been... More

I wanted to come here so many times but it was always closed when I came into town. Then one day I drove by and it was open! I had a lot of fun here. I enjoy history and learning about this area. I spent over 2 hours here, way longer than most people. That said, I had a blast... More

I had visited the museum as a young man but did not fully appreciate all that was in it at the time. Now I have come to appreciate that place to the fullest extent. The photographs, displays and memorabilia are all quality material worth viewing. An authentic old time kitchen with the wood fired cooking stove, general store, cranberry culture,... More

A long time regular visit for us, events that are held each year are worth the stop for home town flavor.

We have been to the museum on several occasions. There is a lot of history in the building and it is very well maintained.

This was a great, volunteer run local museum. There are some neat artifacts including old toys, information about the cranberry industry, paper industry. Docents were knowledgeable. The house is beautiful and worth a visit if you have time.

For a small-town museum, this place has a lot to offer. The changing exhibits and knowledgeable staff, make it a great place to visit. Be sure to check hours before stopping in.

Brings back memories from years back when this was the T.B. Scott Library. The location and building are picturesque. Flowers are well tended in the summer time. Lori is such a tremendous asset and help when you go there with questions. Plan to spend more time there this summer. There is much more to do and see there.

This is a fun local museum to visit whether you live in the Wisconsin Rapids area or are touring from elsewhere. My last visit with my 11 year-old lasted nearly two hours, during which time we learned a lot about our local community's history, starting with the Native American Indian arrowheads from 9,000 BC and going right through the European...
