This great little museum does a great job of showing what Wausau is now and in the past. Many displays show the various businesses that have made Wausau what it is today.

This lovely home, full of fabulous woodwork, contains some unusual exhibits about the area. Would probably be most interesting to residents of Wisconsin but is so well done and thorough I would recommend it to anyone. Quality place to check out in Wausau.

It's free to visit the Woodson History Center. If you want to tour the Yawkey House Museum (across the street and also part of the Marathon County Historical Society), it's $7 for adults, $6 for seniors, and $5 for students.
