A beautiful area with soft, warm sand and a magnificent expanse of lake to explore. The waters nearest to the beach are of course not overly deep, and those with children can relax on the beach whilst keeping their young ones in full view and easy reach. I would also suggest you go out with a kayak- Door County Kayak... More

We kayak toured past this park on the cave point tour that Door County Kayak Tours hosts. It is one of the largest beaches in Door County and is quite beautiful.

This park is my favorite because there is a long beach, as well as wooded hiking trails. If you don't want to pay for the state park fee, you can park at cave point county park and walk the trails to whitefish dunes. I only wish you could camp here... or live here!!

This was my personal favourite of the state parks. Beautiful and easy hiking trails along the water with awesome views of the lake. We visited the dog beach which was quite a bit farther of a walk, but only had 1-3 other groups of people at any given time. The water was clean and warm and the sand was soft... More

Such a beautiful place! It was a little chilly with some wind while we were there but it did not keep us from enjoying the scenery. This is one to have on your bucket list!

Catch Whitefish in the summer or early Fall when the weather is warm. Great beach and wonderful walking trails. Make the hike up Old Baldy. You won't regret it.

Most of the shoreline of Door County is rocky, but this park has over a mile of excellent sandy beach with a good swimming area having sand bottom. There is one roped off area where swimming is not permitted because it sometimes has a dangerous undertow current. This park is not crowded except for summer weekends..

Whitefish Dunes came highly recommended, but when we arrived shortly before 11am we weren't able to find any parking.

Had a birthday party there at the shelter. The place is very clean and well maintained. This doesn't look like most state parks. No garbage, graffiti, the view of the wave crashing into the shore was awesome

I visited Whitefish and enjoyed seeing some fall colors. It was quite windy and felt really cold (as it's very exposed), but definitely worth the trip to see the waves coming up.
