This is one of my favorite state parks - in particular since the cooling breeze off of the Lake Michigan on a hot summer day. The park is not very large, but has several very serene walking trails. It also has a beach - but in the last several years beach has shrunk significantly, since he waters of Lake Michigan have noticeably. The park also has a nature center, where one can explore the natural history of the park and its surroundings.

This had lots of options for trails different lengths. View of bay was great. So trails were in the woods and along the shore.

This state park is absolutely gorgeous. I brought my dog with and my friend and her two dogs also came along. There is a specific beach area for the dogs which has a lot of space. There is an easy walk/hike to Cave Point from this state park too. Such a beautiful place with gorgeous views.

My husband and I did a lot of hiking on the Door Co. peninsula in July. Whitefish Dunes State Park was one of the best places we visited.

I’m sure its beautiful if there’s not dead fish everywhere. Seems like it would be a health hazard; dead fish in the thousands all along the shore, floating in the water…. Still kids playing and people swimming, but the smell is atrocious. Too bad there’s no warning before you enter the park.

A very beautiful place to visit, it is dog friendly as they have a beach for our furry friends and very clean.

we were able to park here and walk along the beach to arrive back at our condo (Glidden Lodge). It was a very relaxing walk along Lake Michigan in beautiful weather.

Didn't do trails so I can't speak to those. There is a restroom and changing room. Not that we swam. I believe theu called it Whitefish Beach due to all the DEAD Whitefish on the beach shoreline and floating in the water. I mean kids building sandcastles with fish tails sticking out! Flies having a feast with it. Smelled just like you imagine. So so bad and I have pretty low standards for a beach due to where I come from. These pictures don't do it justice

Lake Michigan is truly beautiful, and the sands here enhance the blue waters. The drive here was lovely with the trees leafing out in cheery spring greens.
