It's intimate. Orchestra, Balcony, and box seating. If you sit in the front boxes, you really have to angle yourself if the lead singer is not center-stage. Bring a cushion, as the original wooden chairs are, you know, wooden. The box office also has cushions for one to borrow. The space is gorgeous, restored with lovely attention to detail. The... Just down the street from Laz Bistro (please go there before or after whoever is performing at the Opera house) is a great entertainment venue. We were there to see Laurie Lewis and The Right Hands. And even though their seats are VERY hard they fortunately know that and have cushions at the ready to give you before you go... More

Sensational venue for sound and ambiance...and the performers love it too. We've never seen a show there during which the artist didn't comment on what a cool room it was. HOWEVER...avoid the Upper Box Seats at all costs. While it may be cool to sit in them, the sound is dreadful.

Following a local online event calendar, we noticed a performance at this venue. Walking into the establishment, it was like time had stopped. From the open air, parlor type seating to the glorious woodwork/painting, I felt like I was at the Ford Theater in Washington DC. The performance was ok, pricey, but realizing the establishment had to cover the national... More

Lyle and ROBERT Keen put on one great performance. You had the feeling that two old friends were sitting on a porch picking and singing and telling stories. Their interaction was a joy to hear and see. One amazing observation was that each applauded the other after they performed. A whole new appreciation of their music and their artistry. Thanks... The Stoughton Opera House has lined up a really great schedule of performances for 2016 - 2017, and for reasonable ticket prices. The acoustics are fantastic, and the staff is enthusiastic and kind. Can't lose! There are lots of stairs, but there is an elevator.

Like many smaller towns in America, Stoughton built an opera house during decades ago, and like many of those towns, it fell into disrepair. But Stoughton saved their gem perhaps because it uniquely resides in the same building as the city offices. Upstairs in fact. You climb the ornate oak staircase to a gorgeous theater faithfully restored. Being a small... More

this opera house is so beautiful with a very intimate venue. the acoustics are great. my husband and I have been there several times. the ticket prices are so affordable and the entertainers are nationally known. They especially have top rated blue grass which we also enjoy. the history of the opera house and the restoration make it a real... More

We've visited the Stoughton Opera House repeatedly for memorable performances. The auditorium is spectacular -- but bring seat cushions if you can. The wooden seats get very hard after 90 minutes.

Not many of these jewels left, and Stoughton spent many years & $$$'s restoring the original glory. One of my favorite touches is they left the top hat racks under the original seats. The music I've heard there seemed so personal & real....you can tell the musicians really enjoy the opportunity to relive the intimate concert experience.
