We visited the gift shop and walked around a bit. The gardens, falls, one side of the house, and view can be seen from an observation porch at the visitor center. Even the senior tickets were a bit steep for a 1-1 1/2 self tour of the house so we skipped that. Had they been cheaper, we would have enjoyed... More

This place contains a collection like you’ve never seen before, from cigarette lighters (probably over 500) to pipe organs (50?), to drums, to carousels, to dolls, dollhouses, trains, boats, circus wagons, a full-sized whale being attacked by a giant squid . . . if you can imagine it, it’s probably here. It’s hard to get a feel for the house... More

We only toured the "house" which is Section 1 of a 3 Section tour. We just didn't have the time or energy for 3 hours of touring. However, this house provides an unbelievable selection of art, music, creativity, structural design, artistic design, art collections, stained glass creations, tons of flagstone structure, "Infinity Room" cantilevered structure....just on and on. You must... More

There is so much to see at House On the Rock, that one visit is probably not enough. We spent a very full afternoon, and while it is fun too walk around, my head was reeling from everything we saw. If you can break it up into two shorter visits, I would recommend it. And, there is a lot of... More

This was about 3 1/2 hours to see all three sections. Even then you could probably spend a whole day if you had the time and a good camera. The animated people and musical instruments was our favorite. The cost of admission is $26.95 for adults and no senior discounts are available. This is the most interesting, amazing, and spectacular... More

We toured this attraction after visiting Taliesin, the amazing architect's home - Frank Lloyd Wright, The builder of this HOTR was clearly copying his neighbor and collecting junk from all over the world, displayed in dark outdated dungeons between long covered walkways. Weird beyond strange -someone with too much money, no job and a lot of envy of his neighbor,... More

I "burned out" somewhere between the "obsessive room" and the "compulsive room". This is an amazing place and I am glad I saw it. It would take about two hours to walk through with minimal stopping. It took me almost four hours. If you have no interest in mechanical music and no interest in history and antiques, then you should... More

If you enjoy seeing many collections, some very odd, this is a place for you! The house is very claustrophobic and odd but unique in its own way. The other attractions are a must see if you like dolls, doll houses, military items, miniature circus items, an old time street, nautical museum and music boxes. You are walking 2-3 miles... More

PROS: amazing inside and out ; there are 3 sections - the best one is section 3 which is where most of the biggest items are. The whole house is great but if you are on limited time and budget, go see section 3. You can go outside from the empty food place on the property and see an amazing... More

This was our fourth time here. Each time more awesome than the last. It is just so weird and interesting and entertaining and unbelievable. We love this place! Make sure to see all sections at least once. If it's nice weather, it's fun to explore the gardens and fountains, too. Just a lovely day!
