This is a must see place to visit in our community. There's trails galore leading about a great area in a lovely wooded setting which is bordered by the Root River. Lots of activities occur here and there are rentals for all seasons for canoeing snow shoes etc. Community activities are featured oftentimes and it has lots of local support. Volunteers are always welcome! Parking is available nearby and a lodge holds an Annual Pancake Breakfast in addition to an Annual Maple Syrup Sugaring Off event! Quite A Delightful Place.

My girls love visiting "the woods". :) River Bend Nature Center has several trails, some ponds, and borders a portion of the Root River. We come several times during the year to walk the trails, look for animals, birds, changing leaves, and stomp through the snow.
They have also started to offer more programming including a summer day camp, a monthly Tiny Tots program, family day, and more.
You can also rent canoes and kayaks to enjoy on the river. Prices are reasonable and they provide everything you need including life jackets.
The main building are maintained nicely and the county and non-profit group are working well together to keep this gem a must-do activity for the Racine area.

River Bend is full of nature oriented activities, nature trails, canoe & kayak rental and an Archery range. You can catch frogs or watch the staff collect and make Maple syrup (in season). There are a variety of activities for all ages... from chainsaw carving shows to woodcarving lessons as well as week long programs for the younger set.
You can't find a nicer place or group of people to spend the weekend with!

Hiking trails through wooded areas, along the river, boardwalks through swampy areas, canoes and kayaks available for rent. There is also an education center indoors and an outside ampitheater. It's one of my favorite places to hike in spring and fall.

Kayaking, canoeing, nature walks, sugarin' off, pancake breakfasts Sundays in March, student programs, summer camps: you can find all of this and more. A Racine community gem.

They have lots of interesting programs and events that draw in many people. They have this really neat pavilion for events. Taking a walk in the multiple paths is quite nice as you get to see the Root River. Very homey spot. They could use some help to remove a lot of the invasive trees.

The plate of my 13 year old! I would not let her lick of the locally grown and made 100% Maple Syrup! Wonderful atmosphere! Great Food! Walking Trails! Totally Worth a detour to visit even without pancakes! Breakfast includes juice and sausage! YUMMY!!!!

Lots of well marked trails. We only hiked here, but other activities are available as well, and I'm sure there are probably various programs available. If you geocache, you will find some of those here too. There is also an outdoor amphitheater. Lots of parking is available. We really enjoy these trails - and I'm sure you would too!

Rent a canoe or a kayak, get on the river in the middle of a city and paddle into nature. Quiet. Peaceful.
