Watch the paper for times when you can climb the lighthouse stairs and take in the beautiful views. Nice in fall especially.

It is a good place to take pictures of the lighthouse. The lighthouse itself is actually not open very often. I was surprised to see people surfing on Lake Michigan on a 12F day.

Often we have seen this place open for public tours 2-3 times per year and there are plenty of us who enjoy visiting lighthouses! The grounds are kept very well and there is easy access.

The lighthouse could use a little paint touch-up, but still a very nice find. Happy to see the light keepers' house still being used (as municipal blogs. for Wind Point). Check out the foghorn house that is on the grounds as well. Great history behind...More

A very well preserved lighthouse and out buildings. Nothing was open--only special days for that. However the gardens, structures and information available was interesting. Peaceful place to just sit in the garden and enjoy the water and waves.
