I was impressed with the Lacrosse ans Onalaska area trails. There were quite a few. This trail was great for biking and hiking. Walking along the river was awesome. There were many birds to view and hear. I wish i had more time and my bike!

Biked the trail from Onalaska toward Trempeleau just this week. This is an easy ride but maintenance over the last couple of years has fall off. It now is generally a 2 lane cow path. There is no longer pea gravel on most of the trail so if you try and navigate after a rainfall you will encounter mud in... More

This is a fairly level trail with just a couple of hills on it. It is gravel but usually pretty smooth. It is very pretty at the right time of year. Goes along Lake Onalaska and through a lot of marshy area. Good chance to see wildlife. It is also fun to snowmobile on. Fairly straight and very fast. Minimal... More

Great trail. Well maintained and easy to navigate. I like to bike it. West of town, be prepared for sun. Not much cover. I have Verizon and can't get service west of town. (no pandora) North provides much more cover and woodsy feel. Watch out for nat swarms.

Rode 18 miles starting at Hwy B bike entrance and went through Onalaska (go by a Culvers and Kwik Trip) it was hot and we stopped on way back for a custard come at Culvers. Got a little complicated bc of construction and u do have to cross busy hwy 35 (under construction). Route is fairly flat and easy to... More

Path was in great condition. Generally well marked although mile markers could have been a bit more frequent.

My wife and I had an amazing weekend biking along this trail. The trip from Trempealeau to Onalaska is gorgeous. The trail crosses several wooden bridges and sections of forest. The entire trail is flat, so biking is easy for novice bikers like me.

We rented bikes from the Blue Heron bike shop in Onalaska and biked the Great River State Trail from Onalaska to Perrot State Park and back to Onalaska. We stopped in Trempealeau and had a delicious lunch at the Hotel Trempealeau. While in Trempealeau we also biked over to Lock 6 on the Mississippi River. Great bike ride.

We biked from Midway to Perrot State Park last Sunday. It was one of those 100+ heat index days and we were concerned about biking in that kind of heat, but there's a lot of shade, water stops and the trail is flat, so it ended up not being an issue. We had trouble finding the trailhead in Midway, so... More
