Lots of shops and restaurants. The highlight being the Public Market. Atmosphere, history, and architecture also worth seeing.

For late winter, early spring it was a surprisingly pleasant walk, lots of neat shops, and restaurants. Good places to stop in for a quick drink, or a bite to eat. I'd imagine it's even better in the warm weather with all of the outside...More

I brought my 11 year old and was disappointed. She was hoping to shop but we did not find any options for her and there wasn't much for me either.

I was visiting Milwaukee and searched women’s clothing and I found a couple in the Third Ward I wanted to visit. This area is adorable and full of great independent shops. I had a lot of luck at Stephanie Horne Boutique and Milworks. Great place...More

Only had a few hours during the day, but we wanted to go to the Historic part of the city and take it all in. Lots of nice shops and restaurant's. We ate at a rooftop restaurant and the service was awesome.

We stayed downtown to be close to The Third Ward. We walked the short distance to enjoy dinner at The Screaming Tuna. The next morning we enjoyed breakfast at Cafe Benelux. Both were terrific and hlghly recommended.

Went to the Public Market, and unless there was more than one building, I expected more. What was there was very nice, fresh herbs, excellent looking meals, wine bars; etc. I just expected more artists.

I enjoyed my walk around Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward which is home to the Milwaukee Public Market. Although a little smaller than I imagined, it was filled with specialist stores including a cheese stall! There’s a massive chocolate counter with chocolate covered patties and I...More

So glad this area did not get demolished. A couple of blocks of old Milwaukee preserved and filled with bars restaurants and artisan stores. Take time to read the notice boards that give the history of the area.

I would go to the art museum and eat there. Pretty lake views even if art isn't your thing. And there are a couple of places to eat there that have good quality food.

I was there over the Labor Day weekend and they had a huge Arts and Crafts show, and live music. Their were quite a few family's there but the weather was perfect, what time of year are you going?
