Love this hood in Milwaukee

When visiting Milwaukee I always have to hit the 3rd Ward Neighborhood - great restaurants and I love walking through the Public Market. Hit the Spice House!

Historic Third Ward has such rich history, as seen through the architectural buildings for instance. But it also has some of the most amazing shops with cutting edge fashion. The third ward is certainly near and dear to Italians and Sicilians who have history, and to Milwaukee proper. It's beautiful with cobble stones streets and eating and shopping a blast.... More

The third ward is easily the coolest part of Milwaukee, in my opinion. The historic buildings offer some really cool architecture (check out the alleys, that's where some of the coolest stuff is) and there's a neat old swing bridge. There are plenty of local shops and eateries to choose from. I've always been told parts of Milwaukee are really... More

Enjoyed wandering the Third Ward over a weekend. Lots of shopping and great food, with plenty of bar options. Was pleasantly surprised by how clean the area is (even with lots of road construction) and how safe we felt walking both during the day and at night.

Lively day and night with such a nice variety of shops, galleries, and restaurants--even a theater, and Milwaukee Public Market. Parking can be challenging at times. This is one of the places we like to share with visitors to Milwaukee. And, living in the metro area, we'll sometimes think of "heading down to the Third Ward" when planning our own... More

The Third Ward historic district is a vibrant area of Milwaukee, just south of main downtown area, located along the Milwaukee River and east to Lake Michigan. Nicely restored historic buildings house shops, restaurants, bars, art galleries. Great area for unusual gifts, fashions, art and jewelry. Everything from Anthropologie store to upscale Goodwill store, called Retique. Parking can some times... More

We weren't in town long, but stayed in the downtown area nearby. We were able do a little bit of exploring this area, but there are all kinds of shops and restaurants that I would have loved more time to explore and check out future.

Nice warm spring day. We decided to walk around the third ward. We stopped to eat. And stopped for a beer. Most everything looked good and kept up.

At the fish shop inside the Milwaukee Public Market you can get a Lobster Roll for $15.00 that is as good as you can get in New England.

But a great place to visit. So much activity at the fair grounds. A cafe along the river's edge. So many places to eat and unique stores for shopping. Worked and enjoyed the area for four years.
