This was so authentic I would have thought I was in Germany!! The schnitzel, the red cabbage! The Hot German Potato salad! I was in Bavarian heaven!

There are some nice architectural buildings with old world charm. Usinger has a store front and a few restaurants and bars. It is much like any other city's downtown street.

Went at night, probably should have gone during the day. Unfortunately, I was with people who have difficulty walking plus it was rather cold so ate and then left. But looked interesting.
we went to the Old German Beer Hall--the sausage and beers were good but not the side dishes. I lived in Germany for a year and the red cabbage and the German potato salad were poor examples of the cuisine. Fries were cold. Would pick a different place or just have the wursts and beer

Not much here but booze and a couple interesting store fronts. The Usingers sausages however are the bomb! Maders was a huge disappointment.

In one respect it's very much like any other crowded downtown street; on the other hand, it's got some very nice old-world architecture which we enjoy seeing. Our favorite stops on this street is Mader's (German restaurant) and Usinger's (sausage maker) located across the street from Mader's.

The best spice store in the state, an excellent sausage maker outlet, hundreds of cheeses and two blocks of restaurant and tavern choices. It's worth a drive.

This is one of Milwaukee’s coolest streets, in my opinion. Its most distinctive buildings lie along a two-block section in the Westown neighborhood (between W Juneau Ave and W State St, more or less). This is where the “Old World” part of its name comes from: the buildings here have a clear German influence in their architecture. Mader’s Restaurant is the most obvious example, and makes for a fun photo-op. If you’re even remotely interested in exploring downtown Milwaukee on foot, make your way over to Old World ‪3rd‬ ‪Street‬ and see for yourself how much of an impact the German immigrants had on this city.

My first trip to Third St. and I was not disappointed! Started at 9:00 a.m. and got to go to 2 bars. Who’s on Third and Hofbrauhaus. I am planning a return trip for a day of wandering around Old World 3rd st. I saw 10 or more places I want to go in. All bars ,restaurants and pubs. I’m not a night person, so for relaxing fun I will day trip here. The night before, after the Elton concert at the Forum(right around corner), bars were packed. Headed over to the lakefront at noon to see the art museum open and close at noon and walk along the lake. A perfect day.

We've traveled all over the EU so it has kinda that feel but that doesn't matter as much as the food choices along the way. We dined at the Hofbrauhaus and it was delish!

Give it a good walking tour - you'll have fun.

after visiting the cheese market and buying some to snack on later we went to Usinger's Sausage house. There we got some great Brats and buns to enjoy at our hotel. There is also some great resurants to enjoy as well.
