Discovery World connects innovation, science, technology and the environment with exploration and learning through interactive exhibits and experiential learning programs. We are dedicated to helping people positively impact their communities by developing a better understanding of technology and the environment while fostering both innovation and creativity. Discovery World is a 120,000-square foot facility that includes interactive science, technology and freshwater exhibits, learning labs, theaters, television and audio studios, and fresh and saltwater aquariums. Venture into our world of technology Take a 3-D journey into virtual environments. Feel the dips and dives of flying an airplane. Lie on a bed of nails. See the inside of a nuclear reactor. Immerse yourself in our world of water See aquatic life from the Great Lakes, North Atlantic, and the Caribbean. Interact with stingrays, sea urchins, sturgeons, and more in our touch tank. Navigate your own ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle). View the world's largest model of the Great Lakes while you learn about native amphibians, reptiles, and fish. Discovery World is also home to the S/V Denis Sullivan, a 137-foot replica of a 19th century Great Lakes schooner and a floating classroom for water education and conservation programs, day and night sails, and private receptions. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, our grounds and promenade provide plenty of opportunity for strolling, picnicking or just enjoying the view.

My 12-year-old son and I went here and had high hopes. Unfortunately, the place seemed geared for younger children, and so we wound up staying only 1.5 hours. Several of the activities were broken (which is to be expected to some degree in children's science...More

They are in a beautiful location but they don't take advantage of the view except for the private room upstairs. This land should have been used for something like a restaurant, etc. Many of the exhibits were not working. The helicopter blades didn't turn, the...More

We have visited Discovery World on more than one occasion and enjoyed it every time. There is always something new to see or do. Our family enjoyed the aquarium side more than the robotics side, but that is mostly due to the age of our...More

Loved the robotics part in the museum. A lot of virtual reality gigs. I enjoyed being a kid and just having fun. Pulleys. Gears. Robots. Touching sting rays and other sea life.

On August 1st, our school group returned from a five day excursion aboard the schooner DENIS SULLIVAN. I suspect that the Discovery World Museum is not aware of how this vessel is being run by the current Captain, Tiffany Krihwan. I was appalled at the...More

Enjoy a day learning about the Great Lakes in a place that encourages touching exhibits and playing imaginatively. My kids have spoken for many years about "Stewie" the Sturgeon, and he is the reason they ask to go back, but there is so much more...More

This place is amazing. My granddaughters loved and so did I. Even though they were a little young for parts of the museums, they loved other areas.

Went here with my granddaughter's 3rd grade class for a field trip. All of the kids (and adults!) really enjoyed it. There is a lot to see and do, and we just didn't have enough time to see everything in the 3 hours we were...More

Our family makes repeated visits. I went to an excellent Tesla presentation I'll never forget, and I'm NOT a science buff. Great interactive stuff for kids - and my son went to a STEM school. In fact he built a guitar at one of Discovery...More
