I grew up near Milwaukee and always wanted to see the domes. I had heard they were considering closing them and thought I had missed my chance. They are still there, they are still open, and it was fascinating to visit.

I didn't really know what to expect. It costs $7 to enter. There are three dome greenhouses - a show dome with rotating themes (the theme for autumn was a 1960's flower power theme), a desert dome, and a tropical dome. I was amazed by...More

Loved the domes. Can't wait for Christmas extravaganza. Clean beautiful, safe place to take kids, too. IT's plants so older kids may understand and like it better than the wee ones. It's beautiful. Go.

Enjoyable cold afternoon trip. You can go to the movies or you can stop here. Go with the change of pace and stretch your legs.

This review isn't strictly about the domes themselves, but the Winter Farmers Market which is held seasonally (dates between November and April) in the greenhouse annex of the Mitchel Park Domes. As a foodie, a number of friends recommended I visit the market and I...More

Our Milwaukee friends took us to Mitchell Park Conservatory for their indoor winter Farmer's Market. Wow, what a great place. Various vendors selling cheese, ice cream, vegetables, soup mixes, eggs, fish, meat, coffee, and waffles! Some vendors are there every week, while others are not.

Recently had a chance to visit this facility. It was closed for a while for repairs to the glass. Reasonable admission. Show dome was closed for conversion during my visit, but it usually rotates with the season. Nice displays, great place to get a break...More

Great time for everyone one in the family. Three Domes, one arid, one tropical and one seasonal. Halloween’s up and lots of pumpkins. I’m like a kid in here. I love the birds, I love the fauna and everything in between. Most everything is marked...More

Unfortunately those two (Tropical and Desert Exhibitions) are still closed. They are saying that they might open in fall. The admission is $3.00 for every person until the other two domes are open. The only one that is open... More

Yes, that would be a wonderful time to see the Domes - get out of the cold and enjoy the warmth and color of the beautiful flowers. Great little gift shop, too!
