I never knew that the underground railroad went as far west as Wisconsin, my home state. I never knew that there were Seventh Day Baptists, and that they were involved in the anti-slavery movement. I never knew much about the early days of Wisconsin history....More

We visited Milton House a couple months ago and had a good time learning the history behind the house itself and the underground railroad. Since it was the slow time of year for visitors in March they were nice enough to schedule a tour just...More

A real gem with incredible historical significance. The only documented Wisconsin stop on the Underground Railroad, it features a tunnel between the inn and the pioneer cabin where escaped slaves hid between the two buildings. The inn is the oldest grout building in America, and...More

This small but wonderfully interesting museum should be a must visit if you are in the Milton, WI area. Part of the Underground Railroad, it gives you an idea what run-a-way slave had to go through to get to Canada..

Very interesting & educational. Some areas might be difficult for tall people to get through as they are underground with not much head room. Also, some paths are very narrow, It was very interesting to learn about Milton's roll in the history of slavery.

Our favorite part of this museum was definitely when we got to walk through the underground tunnel. That was so cool. The rest of the tour was also really interesting, too, and this is such an incredible place to learn about and see! Everyone in...More

Looks like some one beat me to the answer. Good thing, 'cause I don't remember.
