I had lived in the Menomonie area for many years before I stopped at this museum. It has a lot of interesting information about Menomonie through the years. I was surprised by how progressive this little community has been, often leading the state with technology. A must see if you live in this area.

My daughter decided to check out the museum. It was a nice little museum. We found some of the exhibits interesting. We enjoyed reading about the first lumber barons and the start of UW-Stout.

This is a museum to tour if you want to get a good understanding of North Central Wisconsin's history and culture. Excellent workmanship on the exhibits and details furnished to easily read and view. Allow about two hours for the visit.

On the way to my dad's I had to fill up gas in town and saw the sign for the museum. It's in a metal/brick building back in the corner a bit. It sure looked better inside. There was plenty on the history of the town and the rest of Dunn County. Anything from the civil war to the local... More

The displays are well done with changing exhibits featuring events in town or new items. They focus on the logging and pioneer history, Caddie Woodlawn with a children's dress-up area, UW-Stout history, and other areas of local history. Special evening speakers cover a variety of topics of interest.

We joined the museum several years ago and make a habit of visiting often. This is a treasure for a small town like Menomonie. I learn something new with every visit.
