We liked taking in the view with teenagers, even though it was in the 30s! Informative signs describe early LaCrosse life. open air shelter with fireplace (no fire) to get out of wind. Restrooms are just off the path, but only available seasonally. Small parking...More

Loved the lacrosse bluffs. Trails that are easy to hard and a great view at the top. We saw eagles and just enjoyed being outside. Lots of people enjoying the trails on a nice day. Go do this.

This is a nice view on a warm, sunny day. However, we have also visited on a cold, not warm day, which was miserable. It is a lovely, panoramic view and worth the trip on a fall day when the leaves are changing colors. You...More

Great vista. You can see three states on a clear day. It is most beautiful in the fall. Words can’t express the fall colors from here.

We had gone on a quick trip to LaCrosse in September, (it's about 3 hours from home) and we drove the motorcycle there, then up to the Grandad Bluff. Very picturesque and you can see UW-LaCrosse from there, and a whole lot of LaCrosse too!...More

Good place for a photo if it's good weather outside. Just go on a clear day. Would recommend doing in between other activities as a time filler.

The drive up to this overlook is quite nice on its own, but the view from the top is great! There is a nice shelter with restrooms at the top as well.

If you're in La Crosse you have to visit Grandad's Bluff. It is a beautiful drive up the bluff, especially in the fall. Once you're on the bluff you'll enjoy the awesome views of La Crosse. It's a must see!

The view at Grandad Bluff is expansive. It was a much shorter hike than we expected, but it was still a good stretch on a long road trip. On a good fall day you can hear the college band rehearsing -- at least we did,...More

I was trying to figure out how to get up to the park. Just as the other reviews say it is a great view. There are pay views at the top along with some great story boards on how the park came to be. There...More

You'll drive to the top and there's a concrete sidewalk that leads to both the shelter and the overlook. In fact, it's handicapped accessible

It is accessible by car. There is a parking lot and a short, easy walk to the overlook. There are also trails from there for those who want to explore further.
