These Pete Dye designs speak for themselves. We loved the golf. All agreed we could play the River course daily; the Straits would cause severe mental illness if played daily. Only problem-the caddies were apparently having a labor dispute. Caddies all three days, every one of them disgruntled & did not provide an enjoyable experience. When a course is walking... More

Put this golf/life experience right up there with Pebble Beach, The Old Course, Pinehurst, Torrey Pines and only a few more. One of the more difficult of the courses I have mentioned but as beautiful as any I have ever played. It was a bit foggy at the beginning and the cadies just laid there towels down and said hit... I'm not a golfer, but I'm so glad I went to see this golf course on Lake Michigan. With its twists and turns, hills and valleys, sand traps and water holes, I thought this golf course looked more like a war zone than a place for leisure activity. They say this course is a challenge and, from the looks of... More

The most difficult course I have ever played. Incredibly picturesque. Caddies very knowledgeable and a must to get around this track. An experience my son and I will never forget and will want to come back to.

As part of a wedding weekend, my sons and I played Whistling Straits. Incredible. Beautiful layout along the Lake. Fair course as long as you play from the tee box associated with your handicap. Caddies know their stuff. Worth the price to play it once in your life. Highly recommended.

One of the great golf courses in this country. Spendy of course, but well worth it if you can! We did not get to finish our round however because of a lightening delay and were then unable to come back as it was booked. We were from out of town so this was too bad. But, all in all, a... More

Incredible golf courses & facilities. We purchased package which included a 30 min lesson. Pro was great...friendly, good communicator. Straits is walking only & you must use a caddy. Awesome experience with dramatic views of Lake Michigan. Courses were in immaculate condition. My caddy, Oscar, was the best. Led me to a birdie on 16. It's pricey...but it's a bucket... More

We've been to Kohler a couple of times. The first time I was unable to play Whistling Straits, but this time it was booked early. Played The Irish first day and it's a really fine course. I enjoyed The Irish as you get a little exposure to both a parkland type course and the links type holes you'll see on... More

The Straits Course is one of the most beautiful courses you will ever play, but the experience is badly marred by the painfully slow pace of play. The rangers do NOTHING to move groups along and their GOAL is a 5 hour pace. That is ridiculous. Sure, the course is hard and it is walking only, but with caddies and... More

This is definitely a bucket list destination. Not cheap, but both courses are great. Caddies are excellent.
