An interesting portrayal of the history of the Native American tribes in the area, describing how they lived in much more detail than is usually displayed. The displays are interesting and well done. The museum itself is a lovely building, but the display is not huge, can see it all in about an hour.

We went to see the southport quilt show and were not disappointed. spent another hour wandering the rest of the museum. the size of this museum is perfect for families with small children - just enough to see without turning into boring. we will return for additional shows.

This museum is very well done and it was especially neat to see the mammoth bones they found in a local WI farming field!

Thanks for the great review! While we have a lot of great stuff to see at the Museum, but the Schaefer mammoth bones and Hebior mammoth replica are the crown jewels of our collection. Glad you enjoyed your visit! More

Do you love dinosaurs? How about wolves? A variety of wolves! I can't believe this museum is by donation only. I would pay a standard fee for this for sure! There is a kid-friendly activities area when you enter. So inviting and fun!!!

Wow! It sounds like you had a great experience! We love being able to provide quality exhibits to all our visitors, regardless of how much they can spare for the donation box. But every little bit is much appreciated, including such glowing reviews! More

The Kenosha Public Museum is a large facility on the Kenosha Lake Front. Graciously designed, it contains a tremendous amount of wonderful exhibits. My favorite is the wooly mammoth life size skeleton. The mammoth was found in Kenosha Co. Markings on the bones shows that it was hunted by humans. The prehistoric marine exhibit is fantastifc.

Wow! Reviews like this are especially rewarding for our dedicated Curatorial staff. Did you know our current Director helped excavate the Mammoth we have on display? That gives us some great first-hand knowledge to include in our Exhibit. So glad to hear you had a great experience! More

Very nice family friendly museum geared for younger families. Very educational. Not a lot of walking but there are stairs. A really nice outing for the whole family.
