This is a great place to visit and learn. Also take a nice walk/hike through nature. Winding through woods along the river, seeing many types of bird wild life, squirrels ,turtles and many othor animals. If you go during the spring you can see the fish spawning and jumping out of the water.

The kids and I love walking the trails. You can sit and watch the water roll over the rocks for hours. It's so much nature right in town. I really love walking near the water.

Excellent indoor display of preserved taxidermy animals, along with the fabulous live outdoor atmosphere. Don't... More

We went cross country skiing on the center's trails on the Girl Scout camp across the highway from the more famous boardwalks and eagle views. The trails were empty, and also not groomed, so we blazed our own way and had an alone-in-nature experience. Before we set out we spent a little time in the Environmental Center, which has some... Love the boardwalk and waterfront area. We've seen deer, eagles, ducks, geese, many variety of plants and the beautiful rushing river waters. Great for families or a romantic walk with a loved one.

Wonderful display of taxidermy animals from around world. Free. Periodic kids programs like maple syrup making And crayfish catching. Walking on bridges and trails by Fox River a must. Bring camera especially in Autumn. Medium difficulty after the beginning part. Wheelchairs ok for first nice part of the trail.
