Not much to see here, but wow! That is one huge rock that fell down the bluff and into the bedroom. Quick stop, good "leg stretcher" place to stop when you need to break up a journey. Donation jar inside and the owner may or may not be there. Lots of photos and newspaper articles on display inside. It really... More

It is worth a look. It makes you think about living under a bluff! The house has been left the way it was; with that big rock stuck in it.

The front door is unlocked and donations are on the honor system - you really have to love the Midwest! If you happen to be driving along the Mississippi, stop by and check this out. It's exactly as the name describes it - a rock in the house. It's a quick stop and a fun photo opportunity.

Odd place as the house itself looks the same I'm sure that it did the day that the rock rolled into it 21 years ago, so it wasn't much then, and I'm sure the $2.00 they get per visitor won't go far in updating it, tho it could use a little cleaning. The old pictures are interesting, too bad one... More

the family was looking for some interesting sites while we were on vacation. This location was on a packet in the hotel lobby. We took off to see it. It is easy to get to a little walking up hill but not bad. The story goes the wife was cooking in the kitchen when she heard a loud crash and... More

Been driving by this for years and continually wonder what keeps is going. This is a neat attraction though and I recommend checking it out, it is very inexpensive and only takes a few minutes.

Don't hesitate to stop here. Doesn't look like much from the road, but, a fun little stop if you're in the area.

This is an unattended attraction. You can walk around and look at the rock and go into the house. There's an off street parking lot. It's a curiosity stop that won't take a lot of time to visit.

Stopped into to see the rock in the house. Fun little side trip to see nature doing what nature does. The inside/outside is amazing. To see a chunk of the bluff inside a house is amazing. How no one was injured or killed is miraculous. All the info inside helped paint the picture of how it all happened. It looks... More

Worth the stop to check out if you're in Fountain City. Wasn't sure when we pulled in the driveway if it was even open. You just go to the door and walk right in. Could use some better signs for directing people. Other than that it was interesting.
