Signs leading to either end of the Eagle Trail warn that this is a difficult trail, mainly because you are hiking down a 200-foot limestone cliff. There are no railings here. Most other trails in Peninsula State Park are easy to manage on foot or...More

This hike is classified as "Difficult" but me, my husband and my 7-yr old son rated more on the moderate side. It says it is a 2 mile loop. We started in the woods and ended on the cliff side. Highly recommended! If we did...More

I enjoy hiking in southern Wisconsin on a regular basis, and this was one tough trail! Lots of rocks that are slippery and uneven ground. Grab a walking stick and bug spray. The challenge is worth the view along the lake and rocks.

It's it a moderate to difficult trail, but if you like hiking and have some experience - you will love this trail. The rock formations are beautiful. It also connects to other scenic and fun trails (Minnehaha and Lone Pine). It is within Peninsula State...More

Best hiking trail in Door County! Rocks and tree roots to step over but the view over the bay is breathtaking! A must hike if you enjoy the outdoors. Stop and skip some rocks in the bay and enjoy the quiet view.

Eagle Trail provides hiking challenge, good exercise, and beautiful forest, cliffs, and lake scenery. Have hiking shoes and be a somewhat experienced hiker. The trail is littered with rocks and tree roots. The lower portion can also be wet and slippery but the effort is...More

I have not seen or heard about nesting Eagles there and the caves do not look very large. 920-868-3258 is the peninsula Park ranger station and they have always been helpful with answers.
