Old World Wisconsin is a fun way to experience the lives of immigrants to the Midwest in the late 1800s/early 1900s. Visit one of the ten working farmsteads and chat with the farmer or farm wife. Gather eggs, help in the kitchen or wood shop at the new "Life on the Farm" experience at the Koepsell Farm. Check out the 12 heirloom gardens and heritage breeds of chickens, pigs, sheep, cows, horses and oxen. Wander from farmstead to farmstead on foot or hop a tram--at a little under 600 acres you'll want to plan on at least half a day to explore everything. You can enjoy a snack or a light meal at the Clausing Barn Cafe. Old World Wisconsin is also a special place for a one-of-a-kind wedding, meeting or reunion. Or, learn even more about 19th-century life at a special workshop, day camp or school tour.

We have visited these types of places before. This was great experience. Grateful for the trolley rides rather than walking the whole thing!

A very unique enjoyable experience. Especially if you attend the Midsummer Magic Event there each summer! Amazing foods and wine and local beer to sample and so many things to look at and enjoy!

As a child, Old World Wisconsin was one of my favorite places in the world, and I continue to love to visit as an adult when I'm in the area. Growing up, my family would typically come to OWW three to four times a year,...More

Plan to spend several hours and bring hats and sunscreen plus good walking shoes. Trams are available when you get tired of walking

Having never been to Old World Wisconsin, I was very excited to go and visit during their Christmas weekends. We did not have the hot breakfast that is served at an additional cost. We took two children, spending probably 3.5 hours wondering the grounds and...More

Tina: As Old World Wisconsin is historically accurate, the roads are not paved and buildings are original--so doorways are widths built long ago. As mentioned above, there are trams that navigate the entire site but they do... More
