We stopped here to get some fresh air and stretch our legs. So glad that we did, only had about an hour to explore so we didn't do as much of the nature trails as we would have liked. The cranes were easy to see,...More

We happened to make it just in time for the 10am tour and we were so thankful we did. We learned about all the crane species and how ICF is taking steps for conservation of not only the birds but their habitats.

Two reviews for the price of one. This is a wonderful place to visit. I found the price of admission to be very reasonable ($9.50 for general admission, $8 for us older coots). There are 15 species of cranes here, all of the crane species...More

We hiked the short scenic trails. Then went on the 1.75 hour tour given by Elijah. He did an excellent job. He was very well prepared and presented the information in a very relaxed manner while we admired the beautiful cranes. It's a wonderful refuge....More

Many years ago, it was only by chance that we discovered The International Crane Foundation in Wisconsin. That was a lucky day. So ofter, when one donates to support endangered species, you are not able to see them up close and become viscerally connected. This...More

Not really my thing. I find it boring, but these kinds of exhibits are not what I enjoy. It's the kind of place you visit when your nature loving friends are in town. They do enjoy it. So I'll probably visit again some day when...More

Can you share any insight to a female Sandhill Crane that’s been sitting on a nest for over 2 months now? There’s 2 eggs I can see but they don’t seem to be viable. She’s getting very frail. Her mate is rarely if ever is even around this last few weeks. I haven’t seen nor heard him all week. Some days she’ll take a walk in the afternoon but she’s not getting much food. I put out some corn but the deer snag that overnight. Tried some small potatoes- no go. She’s just sitting on the eggs & sleeping most of the time & is still very protective of the nest. I’m getting real worried she won’t make it. She seems very depressed & the male seems to have bailed on her. This pair has been in this neighborhood for years & successfuly raised 2 chicks last & in some years past (before I was here). Any thoughts? Thanks!
