The preserve is composed of several parces scattered around norhtern part of Kangaroo Lake. Some parcels are owned by Wisconsin DNR, some by The Nature Conservancy and some by Door County Land Trust - all in all making for a very nice and large protected area. I particularly like the loop trail that goes around on a flattish surface amongst slabs of dolomite - the landscape looks weird and unusual for someone who is not from the area.

Our friends own a cottage on Kangaroo lake and the area is very special. It is quiet, peaceful and a wonderful place to relax and rejuvenate.

Pretty walk in the woods and very secluded. At the very end you get a view of the river. No birds today.

I love all the DCLT trails and this one is no exception. A nicely wooded hike, takes by some water. Be prepared for mosquitos during the season. Lots of juniper pla rs, spotted a few flowers and a lovely bird of blue

This is a lovely preserve with a hiking trail that is well maintained and marked. The walk is not strenuous, so it would be a good choice for anyone who wants a peaceful walk in the woods. We were fortunate to see an egret when we got to the lake although he didn't care to wait around and pose for us. This is just one of a number of preserves owned by the Door County Land Trust, and you can get details on all of them at the Trust's website. We certainly appreciate the Trust's efforts in protecting lands in Door County.

We drive here and hike along the lake every time we com to visit. It is always very pretty. The trees and grasses along the lake make it very peaceful. So far we have just visited the lake and will have to try the hiking trails on our next visit.

Stopped here for a hike in late October, the fall colors were very good. The trail is narrow but easy to walk. Not difficult at all, I wish it was longer as the terrain was great. The view of Kangaroo was really nice, sure wish we could have walked along the lake for a greater distance and the view at the end is in its natural state so no real viewing area or stopping point for that matter.
Give it a try for an easy walk through easy but interesting terrain.

Came upon this by accident. Finding a lake in Door County seemed unusual. Island in the center accessible by boat which we didn't have.
Heard it has good fishing.
