I was a little disappointed with the view when we climbed the top of the tower. Either the trees have grown or they didn't build the tower high enough. You only have a partial view from the top.

The area is packed with pines, wildflowers, & wildlife! It is a short walk along the trail to the get to the tower and an easy climb to the top. What an incredible view! The air was so clean & crisp with the scent of...More

The ride to the top in the car was like most West Virginia roads, very curvy. But, enjoyed the ride up. The tower was ok, the best part was the trail by the tower that went around the perimeter of the top. Gorgeous views! Windy,...More

This was my 9th state to visit the highest elevation. Spruce Knob is nicely maintained and has several trails also available. Fun place to stop by if you're in the area. Incredible views from the top.

This is West Virginia's highest peak, and it offers beautiful scenery and various types of hiking trails. The ride up the mountain is on a narrow rode and you should use caution on this road. Stop at the scenic overlook along the way.

Such a peaceful area, you feel on top of the world, quiet is bliss. Nothing fancy, if you're outdoorsy, you'll enjoy. The trees have grown a lot since my last visit and now, obscure the views from the tower. Be sure to walk the trail...More

Long drive to get to the top, but beautiful all around when you get there. The trees are taking over the views from the tower, so follow the path around to see some pretty views from all directions. Nice place to sit and have a...More

First time I've been up here in about 20 years. If you come back in from the east the road is paved. You can drive back down the other side about 5 miles if you want to see the lakes. The view at the top...More

One can drive safely all the way to the top. The road is well paved though the last section is narrow. Not much to do once you get to the top except climb up an observation tower. We reached there when the clouds rolled in...More

Great roads to drive to top, in great condition. Easy walk on gravel to tower, great views. Trails as well, picnic areas, rest rooms. Saw deer on drive up.

I was there over the weekend and had spotty service near the top but nothing going up. Not sure where 104 forest rd is but we rode around to the lake and came out a different way than we we went in, had it here and there but... More
