This museum is easy to find and basically right down the street from the Tu-Endie-Wei State Park. There is a lot of history in the small museum, plus a simulator and large aquarium. The people were very friendly. Martha was just fantastic. We had the opportunity to speak with her quite a bit. Not only is she very knowledgeable about... More

The museum was very interesting if you are into turn of the 19th century travel along the Ohio and another river. There are a lot of artifacts of river life and pictures of many paddle wheelers that traveled the rivers There is an interactive "you be the captain" boat that travels the river. Great for children and adults. Don't run... More

A great place to stop and visit and learn more about the Ohio River and inland waterways of the USA. Close to walk to food and very affordable.

Pt. Pleasant has to be commended for an excellent display of River artifacts. With a the Riverboat pilot house to steer down the mighty Ohio to the information of the ill-fated Silver Bridge collapse that cold December afternoon. Plan on taking some time to really capture all the museum has to offer.

My husband and I have been here several times and learn something new every time we go. The staff is excellent - to say they are friendly is an understatement! They have some exhibits that are permanent and some that change. There is two floors that tell of the history of the river, floods, river boats, people, and the Silver... More

This was highly entertaining. $5 door charge. I'm a historian so if I lived here I'd be here weekly. As it was, we spent a few hours here chatting with the awesome staff -- zero research, but had I time ...

this museum is the best small museum I've ever been to. My love of the area, my love of steamboating, my love of history all conspire to make me a bit biased, but this little building packs more wonder per square foot than any small town museum I've ever seen. Allow at least 4 hours to scan the museum -... More

The museum is filled with many interesting memorabilia about the Ohio River area. The most interesting to me was the video and display of Silver Bridge tragedy in December of 1967 when the bridge fell during rush hour. Only 5 people who were in traffice stopped on the bridge were saved. A new bridge was constructed in the record 2... More
