We took the north walk and our guide was terrific. He educated and entertained. My wife insists that we go back for the paranormal over night experience. I am a skeptic but we will see. It will be fun. I did get a hint from...More

Love the place but hated the punk kids investigating so disrespectful to living and dead. The tour guides were great and knowledgeable. I feel I wasted 300 dollars..I can't say I'm going to come back because of the experience. Ended up leaving early.

Excellent experience... Tour guides were very knowledgeable. If you're into spirits and ghost hunting this is the place to go.

What a fabulous and significant piece of history. Our family, 6 of us, all adults took the overnight ghost experience. Our guide, Ryan, was well informed and an excellent resource. The tour took us throughout the prison, and then we were permitted to roam about...More

Really enjoyed the overnight ghost hunt! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and informative. We caught many orbs in photos throughout the prison, but we got major spikes on the K2 meter in Red Syder's cell that would peak out after each question we would...More

We book a private tour for 15 people. It was a little expensive but soooo worth it. Ryan and jason, our tour guides, were amazing. They had so much knowledge about things and people.

This was an amazing experience. I went on the ghost hunt from 11pm to 6am. They start with a tour and the guide was knowledgeable and friendly. There was ample time to investigate. It did feel like you were walking through a horror movie, but...More

I was so glad that I went for the overnight event at the West Virginia Pen. Not only was it very appropriate for Halloween, but also it was educational.

I wasn't aware that they allowed pets but I could see a dog moving along this tour well. I do not think we walked on stairs nor did we go into small spaces (except for the cells if we wanted to).

The place in itself looks intimidating, but there's nothing to really be scared about, especially during a day tour. It's more of how things were back in the 1800's, and the history of the building. I think an 11 year old... More
