Went with a friend in July 2016 to do the Upper Gauley on the New River Gorge with Adventures on the Gorge company. After arriving we checked in and got ourselves situated. When our group was called up, we went to a barn style building and picked out a helmet and a raft. We then took a school bus on... More

Thanks Thirsty! So, for our most challenging trips, you have: the Summer Gauley, the Fall Upper Gauley, the spring Lower New River, and my personal favorite: the Fall Gauley Overnight. That ought to keep you in adrenaline rushes for the foreseeable future, my friend. Jay More

I have rafted several times....but my teenage daughter never had...I wanted a safe but exciting trip for her and this group provided it. The guide on the river was very good and the opportunity for float a season was also interesting. In fact they provided instruction to my daughter and the other newbies that I was proud of...perfect for both... More

I have made two trips here, both during July. Each trip we stayed four days and never ran out of things to do. See their website for all of the options. We stayed with multiple families and grouped off based on interest level of the adventures. The resort is nice but pricey when it all adds up. The first year... More

I have been twice to Adventures on the gorge. The first time just rafting. The second time we did several activities and stayed at the resort. We did the gravity falls zip lining, kayaking, and the timber trek ropes course. The restaurants were pretty good. Smokies was ok but way over priced. I would have like vending machines near the... Hi Annemarie, thanks for the review. If you're game, I'd love to get more detailed feedback about the food and customer service. Those are two areas we generally pride ourselves on, so if we can improve the experience for others, I'd like to try. If you have a little time, please drop me an email, jay (at) onthegorge (dot) com. More

As we departed camp for the Gauley river put-in, we listened carefully to the safety briefing. Wow - that was an eye-opener. This river can be pretty dangerous. What have we signed up for? But once we got into the raft with Fidge (our very experienced guide), all our fears drained away. He knows the ins & outs of getting... More

My family and I recently spent 4 days at AOTG. This included two days rafting on the Gauley River and 4 nights lodging. The river was great fun and physically challenging. Our guide, Scott Ferris, was excellent. We had two different types of lodging. My wife and I stayed, with our daughter and our two granddaughters stayed in a suite... More

We went with a group of friends. Our first time going. We'll be back! It was great! Staff was very strong on safety. This trip was 10x better than a day at a theme park. Guides know the water and know the conditions. Listen to them and you will have a blast! Our river guide was Amanda. Very good, very... More

Wow! My husband and I spent a weekend at Adventures on the Gorge. One day rafting and another day zip lining. I was a "newbie" The resort was beautiful, very organized programs, the guides were very safety conscious, extremely informative of the landscape and surrounding areas. It could not have been better. I am ready to go again!!!!

First, we were there just to ride Upper Gaully. Like all whitewater rafting come prepared. No cotton, no sandals. They have rentals for wet suits and it's pretty cheap. The place is right off route 19 and easy to get around when you get there. We had no problem finding it or getting checked in once we got there. Everyone... More
