A truly Family Park, with great corn dogs (Pronto Pups) and a truly family fun feel !!!
Camden Park is a Historic Landmark, that has seen several generations of my family go through it's many changes. Over the years attendance has dropped considerably due to Kings Island and travel to the bigger parks is a lot easier. This land and water-locked park has struggled over the years to make any real money, scraping by to maintain the safety, over the esthetics of the rides. Understand that when the Big Dipper needed repairs they did them, and not cheaply. That means no new paint job, new ride, new signs, or anything else. I have visited the park since 1969, and almost every year since then. Yes it has it's charm, but "LOOKS" less safe than a weekend carnival. I have ridden every ride in the park. It is still nostalgic, quaint, and for the better part a good deal. Play the cheesy midway games, ride the coaster, whip, paratrooper 100 times. Sometimes the feeling for us old timers overrides the decaying appearance of the park. I feel safe there! WHEN you go there, the pronto pups (Corn Dogs_ are the best in the world!!! (Hands Down). Keep Camden Park ALIVE. Visit, enjoy, take a friend, family, your kids, grandkids. It's personal here, not a mass of people like the big boys.

Camden Park a true Jewel in WV
A visit to Camden Park today with my wife and grandchildren brought back some nostalgic memories. The park is the last amusement park still open in WV. The crowds was down and our family rode nearly every ride in the park without waiting in line. The park was clean and the employees was friendly and attentive. The park still needs some fresh paint on the buildings, signs etc. The Big Dipper coaster needs some fresh paint also on the wooden structure. The rides needs some cleaning on the seats, especially the Big Dipper. There was axle grease on the passenger railing and safety bars on some of the rides. Some simple cleaning and the rides would be more inviting and comfortable for the visitors to ride. Overall a great visit that brought back memories of simpler times. Camden Park has welcomed thousands of visitors over its history. A little TLC would help her shine for another 100 years. She deserves the Best of care from her caretakers!

    Fun and memories
I've been to Camden park many times as a kid, this time I took my babies to experience the fun, they enjoyed! The big dipper roller coaster, going up the first hump there was a board not all the way screwed down had a couple missing screws and was shaking, felt like the cart swiveled like it was gonna go off the track in the process of going up, that was a little frightening and intimidating. The bathroom locks on the stalls do not lock you have to have someone hold the door shut while you do your buisness! The faucets on the sink move when you go to turn the water on. The sky lift, the bars are not safe, the bars should lock, they just pull down in front of you. The point is this is a really wonderful amusement park, it has been here for so many yrs and it is a historical part of Huntington WV. The park in other words looks ran down, the park needs restored, fresh paint, it needs updated, a little more tlc, it's a wonderful place, just needs to be taken better care of and updated. All staff were nice and very welcoming!

Small, notalgic, aging amusement park with limited rides. Rides are mostly for small children or teenagers. Good place to spend a day with young family.

Took my family to Camden Park. My daughter (3 years old) LOVED Big Dipper (rode 10 times) and the Log Flume, and my son (1 year old) loved Lil’ Dipper (rode 6 times). There are also several nice kiddie rides both my kids loved! It was also the first time my wife and daughter got to ride a real Whip, which they both loved! The park is very nice for families.
The down side, there was little to no food options. We ate lunch before arriving and ate dinner after we left the park. If Camden Park provided good food options, this would be a 5 star review.

It wasn’t exactly as I remembered when I was a child but it was close. I would recommend a visit whenever you are in the area.

Personally, i enjoy Camden Park as does my daughter. Depending on when you go, your child can be the only person on the ride. We went Memorial Day weekend and never had to wait for the next ride. It has plenty of rides for a small park. Many are older and rough looking. We mostly love to go here because of the memories of going ourselves when we were younger. I'm not so certain that an "outsider" would enjoy the park as much. However, like I said, my daughter loves Camden Park as much as the bigger parks because she doesn't have to wait in line. Many times, she gets to stay on the ride and go again because not many are waiting to get on. P.S. the swan ride is not worth paying extra for. We used two different boats and neither worked.

I went for the Halloween Spooktacular, It was pretty small and we covered it in about a hour. I had fun because of the person I was with and the rainy October feel to the evening. Not really because there was much to do and see. Its pretty cheaply done and not at all scary. The clown at one fun house was always gone somewhere and we had to keep coming back, and the train was broken. After parking and the tickets, its not THAT cheap. But if your already close..why not. Otherwise, save your time I think.

I've visited Camden Park all my life. As a child, date nights, as a mother now a grandmother 👵 it has changed so much over the years but one thing that hasn't is the excitement in children's faces. When we arrived I was sad to see how few people were there, as it used to be overflow parking, and upon entry I noticed quite a few things would be greatly improved with a coat of paint! But as the evening wore on and the excitement laughs and shrieks of my grandchildren continued I realized the park in their eyes was just as special as it had been to me. There are lots of fun rides, the ride operators were very nice and attentive and the lines were short. As we were leaving my grandchildren were asking how soon could we go back. So I'd say it's a fun little mini vacation. Oh yes and grandma rode and had fun too !

This place is old. It is not Kings Island(or like any other large amusement park). If you have a problem with either, don't go. It is absolutely wonderful for small children. It is easy to get around in the park and they have many rides for small children. I believe most 10 and under children would really like it (maybe up to 12). For 6 and under, it is great. The crowd wasn't large when we went and everyone was spread out among the rides. We had no waiting in lines. My 3 year old grandson wanted to go back the next day(and the next). I saw that some people had complained about the appearance of the place. You can't please everyone. I didn't see anything that was dirty.

Opened in 1903, this is a traditional amusement park without all the bells and whistles of the modern day megaparks. It could certainly use some tender loving care and some fresh paint, but still a fun place to spend a few hours. Many of the rides are the carnival variety such as the scrambler and the tilt-a-whirl, but they added a spinning coaster in 2016 and the Big Dipper Coaster (built in 1958) still packs a punch. The Whip is considered one of the best in the country because of the short distance between flywheels. The park has swan boats available for rent and the miniature golf course is exceptionally nice. It's a good place to spend a few hours.

Visited with three other people on Memorial Weekend Sunday. Arrived at 5:15pm. Crowd had thinned following a brief rain. This is the Park of my childhood.

First got a "Pronto Pup" corn dog. Still hand dipped and a bargain at $$2.99. Just a little undercooked but still very good.

Both ACE Coaster Classics were running well. Back seat missing from "Big Dipper". Whip is intense. It's a classic Mangles Whip but a miniature version which makes it whip more often. Haunted pretzel was great with all stunts working.

Park was clean and the staff presented as being overall better kempt as compared to 5-10years ago.

$8.99 sundown pass a bargain. They also currently have a great Groupon deal.

Miniature golf course ($3.99 up charge) presented as having some carpet damage as per our view from the sky lift.

Miss the Dodgem's (fire causality). Miss the boat ride from "Twelve Pole Creek" out to the Ohio River.

I hope Camden Park continues to exist always.
