A wonderful place which has been enhanced by the removal of the visitor centre that existed when I last visited.

Almost put off by road conditions but stuck with it and got our reward with magical views over both loch and mountain. Didn't attempt the road over to Glen Lyon . Plenty of parking locations plus way marked nature trail plus easy to locate main path up Ben Lawers.

Decided to take the kids to see the mountain and go for a walk, parked in the car park to have a picnic and then walked up the the nature reserve. The walk is well signposted with lots of information on what to look for, you initially walk alongside a stream and then up onto the higher ground. The scenery... More

We were advised to the this drive by our bed and breakfast host. So glad we did, it was truly amazing and not to be missed. We took our time and really enjoyed the amazing views.

Ben Lawers is a challenging walk on well maintained paths from the Ben Lawers nature reserve car park. If you plan to walk via the summit of Beinn Ghlas it is best to allow 5-6hrs for the walk to the summit and back. Be aware that the weather is very changeable so you need to be kitted out for all... Kids undertook their first munros - Beinn Ghlas and Ben Lawers - at the weekend. Changed a lot since my youth hosteling teenage days, cycling up the road from Killin. The visitor centre is gone, replaced by a walk interpretation area, where you access guide books and make a donation to the National Trust who manage the reserve. We parked... More

Ben Lawers is definitely worth the challenging climb (up and down). The views were beautiful and the paths are well maintained.

Not knowing the area at all, we parked up in the Ben Lawers Nature Reserve car park (which only cost £2 for the day) and read all the information boards before deciding to climb Beinn Ghlas and Ben Lawers. The fenced off nature reserve part of the walk was beautiful and had it's own nature trail that you could follow... More

Amazing views and some beautiful plants and wildlife highly recommend going here. We drove up to the dam from the A827 taking a small minor road, which has some great views and is a straightforward drive with a steady incline. Lots of passing places but beware of idiots using as a racetrack....particularly if any contractor jeeps are about! Wouldn't use... More

Great place for a walk....there is a suggested route, with clearly-marked paths and an interesting booklet which tells you about what you can see. You can do just the one-mile circuit, or go on higher up. It is slightly uneven in places, and you do need to be careful that you don't trip over a rock as I did, as... More
