Travel back in time to when a night at the movies was still affordable and fun: this 300 seat Depression-era movie house features sofa seating (only 3) and a super tub of popcorn with real butter for $4. A real mom and pop theater. On the West Virginia Historic Theater Trail. In 2013, the Star went digital!

We went to a movie on Friday night. Some of the locals had told us to ask for a couch, which we did. The experience of this old theater is so much fun. The old popcorn machine is still popping and they serve popcorn with...More

Glad you liked the popcorn and couch -- both are what really make the Star special. We like to think it's better than being at home because you get to share the experience with all your new best friends.

Don't leave Berkeley Springs without seeing a movie at the Star Theatre. Family run, classic cinema experience. $4.50 for an adult....$3 popcorn. The seats could use an upgrade, but it works. Reserve the couches in advance for 50 cents. Seriously!

Glad you enjoyed the Star. Seats are next on our list after we absorb some of the phenomenal cost of going digital so we could keep the doors open.

You can't beat the popcorn and candy treats as well as an affordable movie experience. Only negative aspect is the need for many seats to be repaired or updated because they are well worn.

Always happy when someone enjoys their visit to the Star. Thanks for coming. Once we accumulate some money after spending tens of thousands on going digital so the Star could stay open, we plan to find some improved seats.

First off: if you do not enjoy the quirky architecture of old theaters and the old time feel, this will not be a good place for you to see a movie. I happen to love these kind of theaters because they take you back in...More

We love watching visitors come to the Star and immediately become "one of the gang" chatting with other visitors or locals. The projectionist apologizes. He usually tries to focus using eyeballs to focus on and occasionally there are no eyeballs when the movie starts and...More

Enjoyable, fun night at the Star Theatre. The recently upgraded screen is great. If you visit Berkeley Springs make sure you plan a movie night and don't pass up the popcorn. It's the best.

...too bad every time we go there's a brainless movie playing, but man, you can't beat the popcorn & the prices. We just get a bucket to go, retreat to our B&B, and happily munch & read.

Glad you like the popcorn -- we can control that. Since we change movies every weekend that means 50 movies a year...and that's hard to find. Feel free to complain to Hollywood -- I wish I could.

We went here because, really, there aint a lot to do in Berkeley Springs of a Saturday night. It turned out to be a rare opportunity to experience a venue from the days of Hollywoods- and Americas- greatness: from the time when filmmaking was an...More

We love it when guests enjoy our efforts to keep the Star solidly anchored in the days when neighborhood theaters were the place to go. We do make an exception to show current films and keep our technology up to the moment. And, of course,...More

The theatre is what your average small town theatre was if they were still in existence. The price of the movie was $3.75 for an adult. You can reserve a sofa to sit on during the movie for extra. The man selling the tickets, takes...More

Thanks for recognizing our 35 year effort to keep the Star as it was in the late 1940s. We work hard to serve our community.

It's called the POPCORN MAN SPECIAL! We have to admit to teasing our customers about all that butter but....it's their arteries. We support the healthy popcorn.
