Ineresting. Had some really old WHITE wines that were surprisingly good. I don't usually think of white wines of the older vintages as being especially good, but the Chardonnay was superb. Interesting personnel.

They do have some very good wines! And I've always found the folks working there to be very pleasant. The place itself, however, is pretty small, cramped, and just feels "old."

We had the same experience as other reviewers about 5 years ago, but at that time the wines were glorious. One of our party bought wine futures, but over the years was unable to collect despite numerous phone calls. We went back to Red Mountain...More

Mike's wines are a unique proposition. Made in a style rooted in late 1800s and early 1900s. They are definitely old school, old world wines, utterly different from that produced by any other winemaker in the new world. Do not go expecting over the top...More

You will never forget a trip to Blackwood Canyon Vinigery. I took one sip - threw the tasting fee on the counter and fled. I guess I'm too "new school" to appreciate a 20 year Chardonnay.

Really, we are open to people who are eccentric, which is why we decided to visit Blackwood Canyon. We enjoy 'another take' on the norm, but Mike is way beyond that.. The wines we tasted, before fleeing, tasted of vinegar as others have said. The...More

We went to visit the wine nazi and what a show. The tasting room had about 2.5 million fruit nats and you had to cover your glass. Mike was like 5 sheets to the wind when we arrived. He was shirtless, shoeless and wine stains...More
