My friend & I stopped at Brian Carter after initially mistaking it for Mary Ryan (my friend forgot the name!), but we were glad we made that mistake. The wines were very good, and I enjoyed every one I tried. The current (Jan 2022) tasting room is temporary so the environment is not going to grab your attention, but since it's temporary you can get beyond that for sure! Their permanent site down the street looked to be almost finished and an upscale tasting room as you'd expect. Above & beyond the wines even was our service. We were greeted and served by the most lovely Iranian-American woman that knew the wines, but also was a pleasure to chat with!

I have a minor in enology from UC Davis and have had a spirited preoccupation with classic red wines for over 40 years. Mr. Carter habitually exceeds my expectancies. His comprehension of Washington State viticulture and his competency to blend European style award winning wines has rightly earned him accolades from his peers and from wine advocates, including Robert Parker. My current favorite is his tempranillo blend, the 2015 Corrida. I can't wait to try his 2013 Solesce. Washington State is indebted to his talents.

What a fabulous winery! Chris was so fabulous and knowledgeable. The wines were outstanding! I took home a couple bottles of the rosé and white blend. Can’t wait to come back and try their food.

Wines are outstanding and the customer service is excellent. This was our second visit to the tasting room and we thoroughly enjoyed both visits. Staff is accommodating and friendly. We bought a case and the wine is as good at home as we remembered it at the tasting room.
We visited several wineries while in Woodinville and this is the best in our opinion. Highly recommended!!

Great outdoor seating to do a wine tasting. Also a beautiful indoor space to sit. Our "guide" was very knowledgeable and passionate about wine. Was able to answer all of our questions and offer a comprehensive experience for each of the wines we tasted.

Although we've been to LOTS of the Woodinville wineries (and are wine club members of 3), we had not been to Brian Carter and were really excited to try it. We arrived 5 minutes late for our 4:00pm tasting. We were asked if we wanted to sit inside or out.....it was raining, but outside was covered and it was a warmish day, so we chose out. The server came with a "menu" consisting of a QR code and said we could look up the tasting options there (not a fan of the QR codes....I like the real menu better. I think we can safely get back to paper). We chose the basic tasting of 5 wines, 1 white, 1 rose and 3 reds. It was brought to our table in one of the wine carriers so they only have to visit your table once. We tried the white and neither of us cared for this first one. We expected it to be crisp and light and it was a more heavy white with almost a syrupy feel. Next was the rose, much better and we liked it. Pretty average for the local roses. Of the 3 reds, I liked one and my husband didn't like any of them (which is very rare, he usually finds something he likes). When we were halfway through our tasting a different server arrived and told us we had fifteen minutes to finish our tasting and leave. The winery closes at 5:00 she said. We were a bit surprised by her abrupt behavior. The table next to us had ordered a bottle of wine after their tasting....they were told they better drink up! She returned about 10 minutes later and said we had 5 minutes to order, pay, and leave as they close at 5:00. We have tasted wine all over (and recently got back from 3 days in Walla Walla) and never been rushed like this. We purchased a bottle of the rose and a bottle of the Le Coursier. She arrived back at our table with our purchase in a paper wine bag. I asked if I could have a cloth carrier as we were walking to another winery and dinner (and it was raining, hard) and she said, no they didn't have any. I had seen the other server give other visitors the cloth wine bags, so I was really shocked. Her last comment was she was sorry to rush us and hoped we'd be back... Nope! We will not be back! The wine was mediocre and the experience disappointing.

This place was very nice. The lady that waited on us was such a sweetheart. She provided us each with a wine tasting. Waived it if we purchased a bottle. We purchased 4 bottles here. All of the wine that we tasted was very good.
I'm a red drinker, I found a red I really enjoyed but liked the whites even better. We ended up with 2 wine glasses. You received one for tasting. Since someone left one behind, she gave it to us.
Overall a great experience with good wine tastings. Not much room to sit and relax.

What a great little wine tasting shop nestled in Woodinville. The award winner sign caught our eye and in we popped. I was just sad they could not ship to our state. They have really good wines-I tried. White and my husband a red. It is so clean and welcoming. Good place to spend a rainy afternoon

Then stop by here. Definitely not my first (or third) choice in this wine town! They have a different take on many wines. For example, mixing Chardonnay with Riesling in their white. Or making a Grenache blend ‘Southern’ Rhône style’ what has very little tannin and soft fruit.
Finally, they have a different take on tasting fees. The standard is to refund your tasting fee if you purchase a bottle of wine. Here, you have to purchase at least two bottles (per person) to get the tasting fee credit.
