We stopped in on a rainy morning to check out the hatchery. We were greeted at the front door and given an in depth tour of the entire place. From the ess trays to the fingerlings to the adult coho salmon tank. The entire process...More

Free stop, it won't take you very long and the kids will enjoy it, make sure and take with a ranger to find out just what they do there. Plan about 30 mins for this stop.

Most of our group (two adults and four kids, ages 8-11) was pretty skeptical about this visit. But all agreed- so fun and informative! Jeremy, a USFW employee, took the time to show us around. We all learned so much about the life cycle of...More

It’s so interesting to see the fish at various stages of growth. You can even feed them. But the best part is the fact that it’s also a beaver rehabilitation center. Definitely make time to visit this place!

Who knew? This fish hatchery hosts trout until they are old enough to be released in streams. Once a year it holds fishing contests where children vie for the largest catch from the on-site lake. The bonus is that there is also a beaver project...More

There was no one around when we visited, but you are allowed to wander around. I saw workers walking around and feeding the fishes later on. Anyway, even if no one is around, you can walk into the office. If you look left, there is...More

We stopped in to kill a little time and enjoy the fish. I enjoy feeding the fish in the large pond and in general walking around and learning a little. The beaver ponds always offer an opportunity to see one laying or swimming around. It's...More

We stopped here as we always seem to stop at hatcheries. This one had a lot of construction going on which is good. We'll layer out and explained. We loved the Trout pond where you can feed the fish, there are some big ones.

I guess no one is around in the winter time. Lots of fish, but in off limit areas. It looked interesting, but needed someone to show and tell.

I wish I would have been able to see more of the fish at different stages but they were behind locked fences. They did a good job with their self-guided literature since I really didn't see any employees. I think they might have given tours...More

Interesting to see the work that is out into enhancing the salmon population on the Methow. Kids enjoyed the experience. Take an hour and check it out.
