Job Carr Cabin Museum is a little log cabin in Old Town Park -- a replica of the first settler's home in Tacoma. Visitors take a step back in time to pioneer days. The museum is very hands-on for kids -- they can try on costumes, play with old-time toys, pretend to cook a meal for their family, sit on the rope bed, and pack a miniature wagon for a trip on the Oregon Trail. My 2-year old loves to play with the forest animal storyboard. They also have a storytime series in the summer and Pioneer Days Festival is the 3rd Saturday in September.

Job Carr was the first white settler of what became Tacoma WA. Step into this recreation of his original cabin to see how he lived and learn how he helped found a charming city by the bay.

Went here for a festival to remember the pioneer days. Had a lot of activities for the kids. Learned a lot about life in the late 1800's. The original cabin still stands and has antiques inside and information about the way life was way back when. A nice little gem in the middle of a beautiful town.

The Job Carr Cabin shows what it was like to live over 100-years ago. It is not large but is packed full of artifacts for that period.
