Lovely architecture!!!!!Limited things to see but boy are those things great!!!

As it serves as a courthouse as well you need to show ID, but some lovely pieces of Chihuly glass inside! Also loved the architecture, so glad they saved this building!!!!!

Originally a train station that opened in 1911, the station now houses courts of law. The main domed area and some parts of the building are open to the public, free of charge. I visited almost by accident, having walked by the station several times without stopping. I decided to have a quick peek inside a few months ago and... More

This is my favorite spot in the city. It's a beautiful place to take a walk, especially at sunset. Make it a perfect date by starting with dinner at The Melting Pot, then walk to Union Station, across the glass bridge, and around the glass museum. There are frequently photographers around this area because it's so beautiful.

Historic, interesting building, with domed roof, in the midst of an nice walking area, near shops & restaurants. Lots of art installations. Not too busy.

Wonderfully restored building at the large scale, but it would have been nice to still see some trace elements of the old train station in the interior. The Chihuly displays were wonderful (and it's free).

Union Station is easy to stop by after crossing the Chihuly Bridge of Glass. And take an ID because it is now an old courthouse. The guard is so friendly and will explain how to take pictures. The Chihuly works inside are definitely worth going in to see and don't forget to take a picture with the life size bronze... More

Most of the building you can see from outside on several sides and appreciate the lines/details on the inside. Even the work/restore area is visible through. Love large windows. This would be a 'must see' even if were in a major city.

Great restoration of historic grand train station. Nice self viewed displays of when it was in operation as a station. Also beautiful glass window displays. Great save as many of these grand buildings were torn down. It is a working court house so you need to show id to enter.

OK - somewhere along my quest to find something fun to spend an afternoon in Tacoma, I came upon some information for the union station - that it had been turned into a dining and shopping mecca. More like indoor garage sale with sketchy products and on the edge of town. Scary.

Entry is free! Show i.d.as you go into this former train station, now a Federal Court House. Ask guard for guidelines if you want to take photos. The grand rotunda provides a wonderful setting for several huge Chihuly installations. The orange "Monarch" pieces in the window across from the entrance is one of 4 masterpieces to admire.
