This is a beautiful park with something for everyone! Hiking trails, gorgeous gardens and beach access. There is a very nice zoo too. We went in early July and the rose gardens and perennial gardens were in full bloom. Highly recommend a picnic there!

What can I add that has not already been said. It is a great Tacoma place from the view to the zoo. Been here many times as a kid, then as a parent, as a solo adult, as a grand parent...

Beautiful day at the park. Able to visit the rose garden, Owen beach, 5 mile stretch and fort vancouver. Nice to spend time for an out of town loved one.

The rose garden is extensive and the roses were in bloom. Many roses that were wonderfully scented. The park is large and the views are excellent.

So much to see, so much to do. Between the zoo and aquarium, and miles of trails and paths you could spend a week here and still not see it all.

Wonderfully beautiful! Rose gardens were amazing as were the dalia gardens. Didn't have time for zoo, but will visit next time I find myself in Tacoma.

Point Defiance Park, is a beautiful place to come in any kind of weather. The views are outstanding, and the gardens/setting is one you always remember. I would recommend it to all visitors as a must see place.

Should be nice, but although they are having a warm rain free summer, some rain any month is the norm, so check out the forecast on accuweather before you go so you are prepared.

Historically, we have had red foxes living in the park, but regulars have said there have been fewer sightings in recent years. They are extremely elusive, nocturnal animals. There are no particular locations in the park... More
