I recommend spending an afternoon here, allowing yourself time to hike some of the trails through the woods. There are several different lookout points that are worth stopping at, I especially like the Tacoma Narrows viewpoint. There's a little store at the Marina where you can grab a candy bar or a bottle of water, and there's an Anthony's restaurant... More

This is a great place to introduce young children to hiking. You wouldn't know you were in the city. Great trail system. Park at the zoo and hike from there. It can be muddy in spots, wear boots. We love to take the kids during the rain. The trees shelter you from the rain and you get outside for an... More

So much to offer, here. Great for looking at views, getting exercise, checking out the raccoons that come out in the evening. You name it! So glad this park is only 10 minutes from home!

This is always a great place to take vistors to the area. It has nice parks and the 5 mile drive has some awesome views of the sound and the forest areas. If you like to hike some trails and explore - this is the place.

I haven't been to the Zoolights in a few years and it has grown! This is the first time I've gone after Christmas but it was just as magical. the sidewalks are well lit with rope lights on both sides. As usual I stopped for hot chocolate at the end. YUMMY! I ordered peppermint hot chocolate with whipped cream. I... More

The first and every time I have visited PDP, I am overwhelmed at the majesty and uniqueness for a city park. I also usually discover another new place. From the best Rhodedendron Garden in the area, a beautiful rose garden, a great pond installation with turtles and ducks and koi, miles and miles of trails for hiking, running, biking, great... One of the best (and biggest) city parks anywhere. Beautiful jogging trails through the woods. Fantastic picnic areas with panoramic views of the Puget Sound, including the Narrows Bridges. Rose gardens. Beautiful off-leash dog park. Great Zoo & Aquarium. Also has great beach access where you can rent kayaks and other equipment. There is a wonderful seafood restaurant on the... More
