Even though we love the scenery at Ruston way Park. It way too full of bikes, multi pedalcarts, skooters, walkers, strollers...You name it. It's just way to crowded to enjoy. I felt that being cautious the whole time we pedaled around made it way less fun. Much better to go to boardwalk during the week. Great views, grab some ice cream - (long wait) or lunch. The silver cloud bar has really yum cocktails. We love to hear musicians playing too.

I loved walking around this area - very peaceful and serene. The shops nearby are a perfect addition to the walking path, giving you a place to get some ice cream or coffee for your walk around the waterside (or stop in and warm up). Lots of birds and I hear if you're lucky you may see a seal. The parking garage was easy to get to and you can validate your parking in a store if you make a purchase - the process was quite easy. I have seen people in vests checking, so avoid a ticket and make sure you've paid.

There are many many spots in the Puget sound to catch stunning views of Mount Rainier. Ruston Way walkway is hands down the best place to capture a panoramic view! It was breathtaking to see the view from here, unreal almost!
If you are a photographer, summer is ideal for capturing the perfect image. You may also rent surrey bikes nearby to capture moving motion of the beautiful scene.

Despite the lingering fears that the Superfund was indeed just a comb-over, the place looks fantastic. Jog,Bike.Skate,Walk or grab a bite to eat. So many things to enjoy on a day by the beach..

Almost every July 4th, for the past 20 years, we have spent part of our day wandering the Ruston Way waterfront. Activities for kids, drum circles, vendors, eats - all are great.

Not having been there for the past two or three years, we were amazed and pleasantly surprised of the whole experience.

We parked on the Pt Defiance side of the sky bridge and walked across to the Ruston park and waterside. On the other side of the sky bridge there are a series of slides. We are 65, but we did 'em and they were a blast. The place is really pretty and you can continue into Ruston and beyond to Tacoma if you would like. Lots of people on stand up scooters enjoying the area. The Ruston Movie Theater is really nice too to catch a movie.

With all the construction going on here, some folks may have a hard time getting to this area, but it is really worth the trip. Water area & playground for the kids & nice walking paths that are being expanded and enhanced. Worth the wander.

We took a long walk along the sound and ended up in Ruston's new condominium complex, which includes bike rentals, water features for the kids to cool off, and plenty of restaurants. We shared the walkway with skaters, runners, and folks pedaling three and four wheel "fun" transports. The sound was full of sailboats and speedboats, with parasailing out in the distance. It was just plan fun-filled. Get some exercise with a smile and your face, and maybe a soft serve ice-cream to keep you going!
