WORST CAR RENTAL COMPANY EVER!!

Worst rental car company ever. We will dropped off at the dollar/thrifty rental place by the Denver Airport. The line zigzagged through the building and out the back door around the side of the building. There were well over 200 people in this small building and many more outside. No Covid guidelines or social distancing in place. There are only two people working the counter and a few others just walking around chatting with them and distracting them. It was taking 12 to 15 minutes per customer and then once the paperwork was finished, the agent would walk out to the parking lot to find a car for them. Can’t someone else do that so they can move onto the next person? Extremely inefficient. It took us four hours to get through the line. Do not ever use this company!

Long line at the Dollar Rental Car counter at the Denver airport. 30+ people in line and they just added a second counter agent. Back to one again! Will never rent here again!

AWFUL CAR , AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE

CHECK the car for PROBLEMS before letting someone drive off with it.
ANSWER the phone. Emergency roadside assistance took OVER 45 minutes to answer THEN HUNG UP!.
Tell your customers about the EXORBITANT fee to pick up your car before picking it up. Give a partial or full refund for terrible experiences.
DO NOT give a voucher that EXPIRES in 4 MONTHS! NOT EVERYONE CAN GO ON VACATION EVERY FOUR MONTHS.

$900 Preventive Charge on Credit Card

Dollar and Thrifty are the same company. Thrifty put a $900 charge on my credit card in case I drove to Eastern Montana, which is in a forbidden zone that I only learned about at the airport rental counter. My unlimited mileage turned into 150 a day -- in the West -- then 32 cents per mile. I was told that I would be charged 32 cents per mile driven over my entire rental term if I ventured into the forbidden zone of Eastern Montana. The car would be monitored by GPS. I don't appreciate this barrage of threats. I don't appreciate having to rent a second car from Enterprise to get to Billings. And I certainly don't appreciate having to re-plan a long anticipated vacation while standing at the airport rental counter. I was not rude. I was clearly shocked and distressed at having my vacation blow up in my face. I've rented many cars. I've never had an experience like this.

Unreliable & Terrible Customer Service

We reserved and paid two months in advance for a minivan that we needed to transport 6 family members from Las Vegas, NV to Denver, CO and received confirmations stating that the reservation was good to go within a week of our trip. The day before we were scheduled to pick up the minivan at the Las Vegas - University Dr. location they called to inform us that the vehicle was no longer available. Their only suggestion was to contact the Las Vegas airport location to see if they had anything; they didn't offer to do that for us, didn't offer another vehicle (or possibly 2 smaller ones); nothing but just call another location. We did call Dollar reservations and were told that the airport location may have a vehicle of size that we needed with a different drop off location but the rate was twice what we initially agreed and paid. The only option we had was to reserve it and go personally talk (or beg) the manager of the airport location to go with the same rate which was a huge risk to take considering that we were completely reliant on this vehicle to get us to Colorado for a flight out. We ended up going with National car rental at a much better rate and WAYYY better customer service. We will never, EVER, use Dollar again.

Toll nightmare

I received a toll bill following a week long rental from a local airport. I have no problem paying for any tolls I incurred but the $15 administrative fee Dollar charged for EVERY toll I was charged was ridiculous. There was an EZ pass on the car and it was never reviewed with me at the time the car was rented. When I tried to contact the company about the fees, the page wouldn’t load on the website. I was unable to get a live person on the phone either. Difficult company to contact about a deceptive practice.

Give more thought to customer safety
I rented a mid size SUV at Denver airport on June 20 2021and was driving to Breckenridge Co
During my time with this vehicle I was caught in rain storm in mountain and noticed vehicle was not holding the road to well so I stripped only to see that the tires were bald putting my life and my wife in danger
I sent letter to dollar but received no reply
Demanding a full refund but of course no answer
My rental record is 104063002
Maybe someone at Dollar will see this I hope
BTW waited 3 hours in line at counter to be waited on along with many other people

Horrible customer service!!

We waited for two hours in line in Atl airport even with a confirmed reservation!!
Once we left our destination we lowered the left rear window. It would not go up! Apparently off of the track In the midst of rain storms we were left with the only choice to go buy duct tape, lift the window by hand and try to tape it closed!! We called the company many times. Left messages many times with real people but never got a return call! Not one call back!!
Never again Dollar rental, you have spent our last dollar!!

Horrible company. Canceled my rental without any type of notice. Fully Charged and refused a refund. Was stranded!!!!
