I was here on business and had a chance to walk around a lot of the downtown area. On a Sunday evening it was understandably deserted. Mostly just homeless people roaming the streets. There are a lot of bars and restaurants though.

Downtown Spokane is a jewel. It has historic buildings that have been repurposed into fantastic restaurants. It has very good shopping. It has a world class performing arts theatre. It has a state of the art convention center. It has a scenic river flowing through...More

I know I'm gonna catch some heat for this, but I do acknowledge that Spokane is up-and-coming since bottoming out in the 90's like Des Moines did. I wish there was a bit more in the way of nightlife and a better land use mix...More

Reminds me of other towns 20 years ago, in a good way: the beggars have talent. If you're old enough to remember San Francisco when there were street performers, that's Spokane. So much better than just having their hand out.

We came to Spokane to attend a convention. The main activities were at the posh Davenport Grand Hotel, which is on the "right"side of the river and park. We stayed across the river in a different hotel . It is like two different cities. The...More

Historic and beautiful! We were proud guest of a very good friend's wedding. From the time of arrival to departure we were totally amazed. From the decor to the catered dinner. Was highly impressed.

Spokane has done a nice job of keeping its river an integral part of the downtown core. Lots of trails and little parks. Sadly the main park was under major renovations and shut down. I dont know if the construction is also why the areas...More

The downtown area is not all that large but there are some unique buildings and places to stop at. Some great restaurants and the Riverfront Park is a nice place to spend some time.

We had fun shopping, eating, and visiting a few local pubs. The food was great, as was the beer. We didn't have bad service anywhere.

Spokane has a lot to do in the area, but it may take a little extra work and research to find things to do... But there is lots!
