Lovely lake. Nice and quiet on 4th😁no fireworks! Great for kayaking. Swimming.
Nice camp sites!
I found campers to be friendly and mostly courteous.
Also great track last for hiking. Small town nearby for forgotten items.

We stayed their for the New Year's weekend. Only one loop is currently open, and safe to say that we didn't get to experience all the area has to offer. With that said, we enjoyed our stay very much. Our group took up 6 sites, all adults, all in various RV's.
We did experience the lake - well technically the river, but it is hard to tell, it all interconnected, as we did our own version of a polar plunge on new year's day. It was very cold haha. There are numerous beach access points on the camping loop, but they are/ can be primitive. There is a wonderful day use area across the street that is on the lake, and it is beautiful and well maintained, and I can only imagine very busy in the summer. There is a boat launch up the road, and they have cabin's for rent as well. From what we could tell about the cabins, is that they are very nice, but very basic. You bring your own linens and such, and there is a bathhouse nearby. But several of them directly overlook the lake, and had a great view.
For Rv'rs the loop that is currently open (during the winter) all sites have electric and water, with a dump station on site.
I recommend, and look forward to future trips here.

The lake is absolutely beautiful for kayaking or paddle boarding if you can avoid the weekend water warriors. The campsites looked really, really nice - shaded, roomy and well spaced apart. We were staying elsewhere this trip, so maybe next time!

The beach was so so. It's roped off from the boats and jet skis, thank goodness, because it was a hot weekend and they were all over the place. There isn't a lot of parking in the day use areas on a hot weekend, so we came back after the crowds were gone. It's nice and shady in the afternoon. The sand is very pebbly, so wear water shoes if you have sensitive feet. I swam out over my head and tried to touch bottom, but it's mucky and weedy out deeper. Although it is posted all along the sandy area "No dogs on beach", there were plenty of dogs on the beach and swimming in the roped off swimming areas. One woman stepped in dog doo and was pretty upset about that. Birds also like the area. There was a young osprey in a tree above the beach, and there were also a lot of feathers everywhere. The bathrooms were open and clean, but no one wore masks. We do no matter where we are, but that's just us, I guess. The playground was closed. There are a few picnic tables, but you may want to bring a blanket and chairs in case one isn't available.

Nice view if the Tieton River. Great area roped off for swimming. Boat dock and camping on other side of river. Lots of goose poop was a negative. Play area shut down for Covid. Was nice and peaceful while we were there.

Sites were big, private and clean. We were able to put our kayaks in the water right from our site which was nice. No idiots playing loud music which is always nice b

We drove through just to check the place out. Nice space between camp sites. Forested. A good many pull through sites but with tight turns. We decided it was for our 41.4 fifth wheel. Beautiful and great if you arent giagantic. Deer roam through as well.

I was here yesterday with a GF and we brought kayaks which we put in at the northernmost end of the "Park/Swim" area. There was plenty of parking even on a summer Sunday. There are picnic tables with a view of the river. We had a leisurely paddling experience past beautiful scenery up the Tilton River and Cinnabar Creek before putting in at a lovely secluded spot to eat our picnic lunch. If you're looking for a gentle, peacefully serene kayaking adventure (with unexpected treats like mini-waterfalls and mossy grottos to explore) this is the place.

We camped here in late Winter and the place was empty. It was awesome, quiet, clean, and peaceful. My hat is off to the park staff that keep this place very nice.

This is a great place for camping. The camping spots feel very private from your neighbors. Swimming and fishing are great here. Will definitely be camping here again

Generous camping spots and clean restrooms. Hot showers are extra, but you have to purchase tokens from ranger station. Since we got there after station closed and left before it opened, we were unable to use showers. Still would recommend, just FYI. Quiet campground and beautiful beach area.
