It was nice to have a final destination for this 11 mile RT hike. There were picnic tables, restrooms, water, and friendly guest "keepers." Bring a lunch!

If you are a lighthouse lover, the New Dungeness Lighthouse is a neat place to visit. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. It requires a very long (11 mile round trip) walk in the sand (or a boat) to reach the lighthouse.

Always a favorite hike when friends visit. It is long, but flat and fun to explore the beach, and have a lunch when one reaches the lighthouse.

I checked with my friend and, after spending a week there as a lighthouse keeper, she never saw a single dog so my guess is no, dogs aren't allowed there on the beach or in the lighthouse. They may be okay in the campground... More
