Really nice low-key hands-on experience with personnel who obviously love sharing their knowledge.

MORE than worth the $5 admittance fee --- very low-key and relaxed environment ... we actually learned something!!

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place when trying to escape the rain while wandering through the park. Such a great find! We both love a good aquarium, so for $5 each we figured we should give it a try. It has lots of great hands-on exhibits (perfect for kids and anyone who's a kid at heart), plus really... More

Small yet quite entertaining with its array of tidal pools to enchant those of all ages. A couple of aquariums round out the mix. Knowledgeable staff to help make sense of what you see and to learn more than just the listed odd fact or two. Located at the end of a pier, there are great views of the bay.... More

We always have a good time. The center is on a pier overlooking Admiralty Bay. The view is wonderful, the air refreshing. Inside the touch tanks and docents are fun and informative. You feel like you are getting to know the Northwest waters.

The experience was incredibly pleasing...having slept in a cottage just overlooking the marine science museum, I was not yet thinking about the neat exhibits inside, but more focused on the view of the harbor from Fort Warden's setting. Once down on the dock, I was totally taken to the world of the sea...long kelp swaying from the pilings and the... More

I saved this center last for my reviews of Port Townsend. I arrived on the dock early before opening and the mist lifting from the water in the distance on a sunny morning was amazing. The view in every direction was lovely from the pier. I loved the hands on interactive displays both inside and outside. It was a great... More

Literally on a pier on the water, surprisingly large touch tanks inside (our granddaughter loved them!), plus lots of other hands-on exhibits. And don't forget the second building on the shore - fascinating contemporary exhibits of local marine issues and findings!

I had time to visit only one of the two facilities; it was the aquarium with the touch tanks. Don't expect a big fancy aquarium with tons of exotic fish. Rather, this is a friendly, informal little gem that's really family-friendly. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. It was so cool to touch a sea anenome and other weird critters.... More

This little aquarium has the best touch-tanks my family has encountered, and a very friendly staff to fill in the details. My young daughters went back for a second day, totaling several hours.
