This hike is a diamond in the rough. It is 1.6 miles with an 1600 ft elevation gain, but what a view on a clear day. You can only see Rainier to the north but many peaks to the south and Cora lake below. We hiked this with a couple who were 80 year old. You can make it, if... More

This is a nice little hike. Some online reviews say the road is awful but it is fine, just take it a bit slow in the pothole section (did it in a rental sedan, no problems). The view from the lookout is stunning, just stunning. Very popular trail so I'd advise getting there early. We hung out, alone, at the... More

Beautiful views at the top but last few hundred feet were dangerous. Only attempt this if u can physicallyscramble over a smooth rock face.

Like other reviewers have noted, the trailhead can be difficult to find. Our GPS wasn't working way up in those hills so be sure to have your map at the ready. We went on a Friday and didn't see a single car on our way up. <10 other hikers the day we went. The hike is quick and the views... More

The High Rock Trail can be trying to find a needle in a haystack. I would also suggest taking a rental car so you don't tear your car up, but once you find the trailhead (and locals can help you), it is so breathtaking. Backpacker Magazine calls it a "quadburner," and they are correct. Pack trekking poles to save your... More

The hardest part about this trail is the road that leads up to the trailhead. It's rough and pot-holed, but passable in a small car, if you take it slowly. Make sure you know where you're going before you set out -- After you turn off Skate Creek Road, there are no signs. The trail itself is uphill all the... More
