Ala Spit is across the water from Kukutali Preserve on Whidbey Island and the views are just as beautiful from a different angle. The small park can be found on the northeastern part of the island. It is not a big park, but is definitely worth the visit. The parking lot is small, but does have room for a few cars. There are 2 main areas. There is a nice beach area where you can stroll, swim, or just hang out. The rest of the park is the spit itself. You can walk to the end of of it and it makes for an easy, flat, one mile round trip. There great views of Hope and Skagit Islands. No views of the Deception Pass Bridge from here, but there are some of Mount Erie. It's not as busy as nearby Deception Pass. Ala Spit is a great place to spend part of the day or the whole day.

This is a small very scenic park and seems to be located off the more well known tourist stops. Well worth stopping by but not a lot of parking. When the tide is out there is tons of beachcombing to be had and not many other people!
